Oreck Bag Change: Magnesium vs. Classic!

Excellent video on the Oreck Magnesium vacuum bag system. I have a question you might be able to answer. I went to remove a filled bag and in doing so the bag lock broke. I almost had to break the remaining lock to get it out. You mentioned in your video a link on how to replace the bag lock. I can't find it. Only links to the parts. If you do have a video on how to replace the lock I would very much appreciate it. I don't want to break the new lock installing it. Thank you.

Not a huge fan of Eureka only because they are harder and harder if not impossible to get parts for. They are a more affordable vacuum which is nice for consumers. Eureka is not an actual company anymore so that’s also something to consider. The Eurekas of the past were great!

I have an XL 2 and when you take the bag out like you did at 2:44, there is normally dust and dirt that leaked around the bag seal? Looks like the older style. Also just took the bag off and cleaned good and dunked in a tub with tide until it rinsed clean, HUGE improvement as it smelled every time you used it from years of filtering air. Otherwise great machines

Sometimes there will be dust around that seal. Being a rubber seal it sometimes gets old, it can leak a bit. There could have been a time where the bag wasn’t secured correctly so it allowed dust too. Washing it makes all the difference right?!
