I like that not only does the orbiter do such a great job, but also that it's so quiet.

You can use it with other people around and not disturb them. It's nice to have a peaceful environment when you're cleaning carpets and floors. It also is nice that it uses low moisture so you can use it more often to keep up with the carpets, than you would want to with an extractor. Overall it is a great option for all the floors in a home, so it gets used a lot more than a typical all floors extractor, and is more effective generally.

Do you dilute it are use it straight ? If you dilute it are you using tap water or distilled water? Is 35% peroxide too strong?
@JoeWheeler2 жыл бұрын
6% Peroxide can be used straight but 35% is too strong and you'd need to dilute it quite a bit to make it suitable for cleaning textiles...and don't use any peroxide on wool ever as a general rule. Adding peroxide to water in prespray does dilute it and people do use 35% in some mixes but I don't recommend it because most of the time straight 6% (20 Volume) is more than adequate and lot's of people even use 40 Volume in some instances but I never have needed it. Check the video description for a breakdown of what percentages are in the "Volume" designations.

Whats the tool you were using for removing dents?

That was a Wagner Wallpaper Steamer which you can usually find at Home Depot in the paint tools department.

Ok so this is actually the stuff that beauty supply stores sell in conjunction with a color to lighten your hair?? Wow, that's interesting. Can't wait to try it. All my carpets are pretty light in color and could really use lightening. I definitely want that carpet rake also, but all three carpet areas are different so I'm not sure which one to get. Living room plush, bedroom average everyday carpet, other room burber. Any ideas that would work for all 3?
@JoeWheeler6 жыл бұрын
The lowest pile and berber won't respond to any carpet rake, so the standard one I use is the best for varieties of carpet. Remember to use developer (20 volume max for carpet) at one to two cups per gallon of water. You can use full strength on coffee stains or the like, and on pet accidents. Good luck!

Does baking soda or oxi clean ever have any of the effects of peroxide?
@JoeWheeler6 жыл бұрын
Oxi clean is purported to have similar results but...there are also sources who say oxi clean has been known to cause adverse effects to some carpet. Baking soda seems to be harmless but not nearly as effective as peroxide. So peroxide (in a 6% concentrate not the usual 3%, and not the higher ones either) seems to be the best choice, and isn't very expensive for what it does. Most easily found at beauty supply houses (Sally's) sold as "20 Volume Developer" (clear is easier to work with the creme), this is a valuable addition to any cleaners arsenal. Also the higher concentrates (30 Volume and 40 Volume) are great for floor cleaning, so I recommend anyone who cleans carpet and floors find the nearest Sally's or equivalent and start adding this to their mix. Keep in mind to be careful handling these stronger peroxides as they can irritate skin and eyes etc. and once opened they start to break down so they have a shelf life, smaller size bottles help keep a fresh source available at full strength.

Is it hydrogen peroxide you are using?
@patc13096 жыл бұрын
My bad...i see it says hydrogen in the title.. I can get it at dollar tree for you guessed it...$1!!!
@JoeWheeler6 жыл бұрын
Hi Pat. Just to clarify, the peroxide you speak of, is generally 3% peroxide, while the peroxide I show here is 6%. The 3% may help a little, but the 6% helps a little more. You can get it at Sally's Beauty Supply, or on Amazon at the link in the video description. You can't get it for a dollar, but it's still very affordable. Try the 3% and see if you notice it helping, and if it's good enough, than cool, because it's a lot easier to find. And later if you can get some 6%, try that and see if it works better. Thanks Pat!

Joe Wheeler Ok thanks guys. Are you still using the Fabuloso sometimes? Also I did use the rags on the Orbiter to get the swirl marks out of the VCT tile..worked awesome. Thx
@JoeWheeler6 жыл бұрын
We use Fabuloso on floors, sometimes on upholstery. Anytime you want a neutral cleaner.
