I bought the Ruger 19122 model then modified it with MCARBO, Tandemkross, and Magpul 27 round mags. Actually like it more than my AR. The collapsible stock is great compared to the rifle stock and it has two QD mounts plus it already comes with the Mlok hand guard. The MCARBO muzzle brake is worth every penny. Put on a Holosun AEMS and has been awesome so far.

Had this on my PC9 since I purchased the rifle and installed is the same way and torqued it down to spec...mounted a laser to it, sighted it, mounted a QD sling mount and used it a few times and noticed that the handguard eventually comes loose to the point where there is minor play and the laser becomes off sight or not accurate.....I've eventually used blue loctite on the mounting bolt to keep it in place but no luck at 55 inch lbs, it still come loose with some sort of play to the point where my laser becomes inaccurate..... any advice?????... someone told me to use Rocksett on the thread of the single mounting bolt.... your opinion???
@OreGear2 жыл бұрын
I would degrease the screw and the hole for the screw and try loctite again. If you’ve got oil on the screws as they usually come from the factory, it’ll keep loctite from correctly adhering. Rocksett is a gigantic pain to get loose.

So I've had this handguard for the past year.... EVERY TIME I TAKE IT TO THE RANGE IT CAME LOOSE AND A WOBBLE BECAME AN ISSUE!!!!!.... Ihave a small laser mloked to the front of the rail that became useless wiith the wobble.... so I've use loctite torqued and retorqued this thing with the same damn issue...EVERYTIME!!!!!..... the issue is that the rail is made with a tiny bit of play or space to mount in the bottom of thr barrel where the locking lug and mechanism meets the MI rail.... and even withe the wobble the torqued down screw is in there tight, it didnt back out!!!.... it's simply an issue with the rail....I've called up Midwest industries and spoken to them and they haven't been much help.... SO MY SOLUTION to the wobbles is simply using AUTOMOTIVE EXHAUST PATCH TAPE(metal tape) and used it as shims to eliminate the wobbles 100%!!!

OreGear: I have a question. At 3:12 you casually toss a small package to the side. It looks like a custom elevated picatinny rail insert that allows the rifle to mount a red dot sight in place of the rear factory sights. My Problem is that Midwest Industries doesn’t list it in their description (though it is pictured) and you casually dismiss it as though it’s not a feature worth discussing! What’s the deal bro? Without The ability to mount my Sig Romeo5 in place of the factory rear sights then it’s a no-go for me!

Midwest industries includes MLOK compatible 1913 sections with each of their handguards. I have no idea whether or not this is compatible with any aftermarket replacement rear sight mounts. Midwest is making their own cowitness mount though that works with this handguard.
