Hi Critter thanks for videoing some of the good stuff in WA state. Highway 20 out of Winthrop is Amazing I some time compare it to going to the sun highway in glacier Park. It is a beautiful ride.

@@mkramsauer thanks Mike I truly appreciate that. Winthrop was cool, although a lot smaller than I remember from when I was a kid 🤣 (that’s if it was even Winthrop I visited as a kid. Cuz even back then, I never knew where I was 🤣)

You should have gone their in the 1980's before Winthrop was discovered by the big money from the west side and the spotted owl stopped the logging. It was a really happening place. My best friend and I used to ride our dirt bikes to the gas station and get a burger at a little diner that has been gone for a long time with the gitchy shops that took over.

I agree with you on paper maps, I feel you always carry one. Never got to use a Garmin or a GPS I had my eyes on one but now that I can't ride it's just a dream but, I wanted to know where I was headed but I'd have to remember where to turn. I don't know if they have a setup where you could do a point-to-point from your map to your Garmin and then just follow that with notification from your headset. Turn left their turn right here.

Great ride day there! Scenery, no real wind, kinda days we just want to go on & on. I've noticed the decline of small town businesses in my travels, it's sad. I imagine there is a Costco or Super Walmart within a distance that people just stock up and use the convenient stores for small items. I think it was within a month Laytonville Ca lost its grocery store and long established bar/restaurant. A lot of them say they never recovered from the pandemic.

If you would have went due north through Keller Ferry and Republic you would have taken a ferry across the river/lake.

When you are ready to do your dirt road ride in eastern Washington state, let me know and we will ride to Oregon from Winthrop to Oregon, only crossing pavement or max ten to twelve miles of chipseal tarmac.
