I think Oregon's defense just got completely fooled by all the misdirection to the point they were not confident at all. Maybe they we're that confused... So many misalignments and missed assignments. It was really painful to watch.

I don’t think the defense was lost. The focus of the game was to lock down Tyler Warren and they did a great job of that. Penn state has a creative OC. But even he had to change the norm to stay in this game. The only take a way I have is Harmon drawing a penalty that lead to Penn driving all the way up field. Defense played well imo given the points Penn state needed to play to the Ducks game. Our defense deserved more respect. 2 picks on Allar. Go Ducks!

Our singular weakness is defending the run against good running teams. Fortunately we are also a good running team which helps offset that advantage.

Good point, I think we just struggled getting off the field. Penn State was able to keep drives alive. The most frustrating one was Tosh sending a corner blitz on a 3rd and 16 and that leading to us getting burned for a first down

We just got him back from injury in the Wisconsin game so he’s still probably working himself into the offense. We might see him pop in the playoffs. Sometimes it just takes a min for people to get back into the swing of things

As good as they are in coverage, our DB's aren't very big. They had a hard time tackling PSU"s bigger backs, WR and TE. Also, it's amazing that JJ had two drops and Holden had one and Dillon still had a huge game.

This CFP bracket is crazy for Oregon. Sure, they get a week one bye, but ... After that they play the winner Ohio State/Tennessee.... Then.... most likely the survivor of the neighboring bracket would be.... Texas! Then they could end up playing Georgia in the national championship.... In (wait for it) Athens.... Georgia. (Or Notre Dame who might beat This years Georgia)

And no, you don't have to be nit picky, just acknowledge it wasn't as easy as you would have liked to the credit of Penn State. Be ok with a new look and the shifts that Penn State threw at this defense to prepare for in a week was a challenge. That's ok.

I don't fear a rematch with Ohio St at all, but I really want it to be Tennessee. Me, you and every Duck fan have heard ad nauseum that the Ducks can't play with the SEC's best, that Oregon can't play "big boy" ball. And honestly, Tennessee looks like the most well rounded SEC team despite not even playing in their conference championship. Beating Ohio St again would say something to our conference (and most of the country, frankly), but it does nothing to prove to the national "experts" that Oregon really is just that good. It won't shut up that talk altogether, but it makes them look silly to keep singing that worn-out song. Besides, when Oregon is holding up the trophy at the end of this journey, I don't want any asterisk attached to their first title. Play the best, beat the best. Side note: It's pretty ironic that this year the team that most resembles a classic SEC powerhouse doesn't play in the SEC, it's Oregon. That's got to really annoy some folks, lol!

"It's difficult to beat the same team twice in a season" is not actually true. The mass majority of the time, the first victor wins the subsequent games. That's a false statement.
