We take waffles seriously in our house kzbin.infoUgkxUfphIgghPSpAXNq6OG2WRYsFVqylcqMn and worked our old one through many years of Sunday brunches till it finally gave out on us. Our old one only made two at a time, this one makes four! Nicely sized 1 inch thick which are lovely! Now the kids don't have to wait as long to eat our weekly waffle breakfast and everyone's are hot if we wait and eat all together! Setting 3 seems to work perfect for golden brown. Be sure to pour the batter in the center of each waffle square, not the center of the iron like the novice that posted the scorched waffles photo. About a 1/4 to 1/3 cup of batter in each seemed to work well for us. We tested making just one at a time so we could use all the remaining batter and it made it just as fluffy and golden as when we made 4!

The cupcake Chaffle is awesome in flavor, but a little on the dry side in texture. I substituted sour Cream for the Heavy Whipping Cream and it greatly improved the texture to a cake-like texture! Thanks for this video share!

One of my favorite pre-keto desserts was a Hostess Cupcake. This keto version uses no almond flour, which is high in oxalates that bind with magnesium in my body and precipitate torturous cramps in my feet. This recipe makes four multi-mini chaffles if divided evenly between the four wells, and makes a delicious snack when filled with the icing. I added a cup of ice cold "milk', which is ice water with a splash of heavy whipping cream. Thank you, Steve, for sharing KCCat5's recipe!

Right, in my case almond flour makes me have nausea and stomach cramples. So weird. I use coconut of lupin flour instead. Flavor isn't the same, but I'm happy I can have alternatives to cook in keto😊

These looked so good, but I have learned my lesson with keto desserts. They send me down a dark path that is hard to come back from (over-eating keto desserts). I tend to stick to me savory meals, but this does look damn good!!!

The only time I will have a keto dessert is if I’m going someplace that will serve desserts. At that point, I think ahead and I make one portion size of my keto dessert and I eat it before I even go to the party. Then I remind myself that I had my keto dessert and focus on savory stuff at the party, bringing something delicious like spinach, artichoke dip, and sliced peppers for the dipping is also a way to make sure I have food. However, I was thinking about this year bringing powdered Erythritol mixed with black cocoa powder, a drop of mint, and cream cheese to Christmas this year as truffles. Hence, how I stumbled upon this video. I hope you’re doing well with your health. Remember the holidays are probably the easiest time to focus on Health because while everyone else is gaining it feels like double results as your losing and enjoying the savory holiday foods and fun cooking ideas to make things like mint truffles and garlic butter mashed potatoes keto.

I used to read cookbooks like they were novels. The good ones anyway. For example, I learned a lot about the history of Japan that way. And "Spoonbread & Strawberry Wine is the history, thru food, of one African American family. And Fanny Farmers Cooking School Cookbook is a deep dive in cooking knowledge & lore. ANYway, I sometimes watch your videos w/a somewhat similar attitude. I think the griddle would be perfect for making these as ice cream sandwiches. I need to develop a filling that's somewhere between ice cream and frosting that doesn't turn rock hard when frozen (which has been the case with every keto ice cream recipe I've tried).

Did the second version. Once cooled and assembled, tasted bitter with chocolate. Not edible. Doubles the recipe. Cut cocoa in half and made it a blend of black and regular cocoa. Added extra tbsp of sweetener and 1tsp coconut flour. Made it in mini Bundt maker (cooks at lower temp, but for longer, about 8 minutes). Was a little batter left over. Came out like a dream.

@karlanielsen88962 жыл бұрын
I made the chaffles with the black cocoa powder and instant coffee powder. I also made the frosting you mentioned. The chaffles were delicious, but to me the frosting was awful. I think the reason for that is because in the twenty-two years I have been eating low carb the only sweetener I have ever used is pure sucralose, which tastes much better than the Swerve in the recipe. I bought the Swerve because I started watching low carb videos and decided to try the confectioners type. When I made these chaffles was the first time I tried the Swerve.
@SeriousKeto2 жыл бұрын
Swerve (erythritol) was the popular sweetener in the keto community at the time I made this video.
@karlanielsen88962 жыл бұрын
So what's more popular now? BTW I am really enjoying watching your videos. I love experimenting with low carb cooking. My biggest successes have been ice cream that is rich and creamy and stays that way in the freezer, plus sugar free tempered chocolate that starts with 100 percent Belgian chocolate and cocoa butter, plus a few other ingredients that turn those into yummy candies with 1.25 grams of carbs each.
