But this is totally Nabisco’s fault cause they are notorious for not fully packing the Oreo packages...plus this package opened the same way as the last ones and looked the same when it was opened as the last ones!! I work at a grocery store...this kind of stuff happens way too often. Ask your local grocery department manager...I’m sure they have stories! 😂

One of my friends is a manager for our local grocery store, he said the best thing to do is bring it up with the management and have a receipt so you can get either a refund or a replacement.

unfortunately, an open package is the doubtfully the fault of either the product company or the retailer. it's usually the fault of crummy (crumby?) customers. 100% ask for a refund from the store, but for the sake of the customer service worker you'll be going through in this scenario (whom is typically told to give a refund in most situations anyway), don't blame it on the store/basically their coworkers. cashiers mostly genuinely try to avoid this type of situation when they notice an open package make its way to their register, but mistakes happen.

Oh my gosh Emmy, we just bought a package of some Hostess cookies that had been opened already. Normally I always ask everyone in my family who opened the package but that day I was busy running around and I decided that someone in my family surely opened them because I've NEVER gotten one that had been opened. When I reached into the bag I even thought to myself... boy these cookies sure are broken up a lot, they must have had a tough trip to the store shelf. Since I didn't die from it I figured maybe a mom had opened it and let her kids eat out of it while she shopped and then put it back. BLEEEHHH! I could just see a snotty nosed little kid reaching their booger fingers in and touching all the cookies! lolol You are much more brave than I am because if I had known it had been opened already I would NEVER eat out of that bag! lol =}

I'm pretty sure that is the case everywhere. I didn't buy them knowing the seal was already broken (I didn't look at the store) and then I assumed once we got home, a family member had opened them. First, thanks for trying all these (sometimes gross) new flavors so we don't have to. It's much appreciated! We regularly buy the Golden and the Mint Oreo Thins (apparently we do inhale them) and it isn't unusual to find a package already opened with and cookies missing-after getting one of these packages we always check before we buy them now. Apparently while the new packaging makes it easier to tell if the product has been opened or tampered with, it is also makes the packages easier to open.
