What does your productivity system look like? Do you journal, use Notion, or something else? Let me know down in the comments, I'd love ideas for how to continue refining this new workflow!

I use Notion for systems, Google Calendar for schedules, and Microsoft ToDo for todos. It’s been working really well!

I journal in my Bullet Journal and make to do lists. Tried and true, works for me :D

I use the Passion Planner (mostly for its vertical timeline weekly spreads) and Trello because I love me a good kanban board.

My attempts at organising sound so much like what you described 😆 I am trying to be more organised. I have an undated daily planner that helps me schedule time zones throughout the day. But I specifically picked an undated planner because then I don’t have the stress of looking at the dates I’ve missed because of life just happening 😅 I also use a plain notebook to write daily to do lists when I have a lot on my plate. And of course my phone calendar set with alarms for my important stuff haha. But I have tried those “block out your time” apps and they just never work for me. I’m enjoying your additions of “flex days”. This is something I haven’t tried. I have three kids of varying ages from preschool to teen, and I’m a part-time uni student. I want to start making money from my art in a real way, and I love your videos! Thank you so much for keeping up the content!💜😃💜

I don't have a productivity "system". It all hasn't stuck, just like diets I've tried so many. Part of my issue with consistency is the chaos at home. Two kids still at home, three needy dogs, hubby, everything shifting all the time. Add depression, and other things and... idk. I love bullet journals but legit never feel like taking time to Make one. Currently trying an accountability buddy, and a dayplanner dedicated to creative stuff.

It’s crazy how much non art stuff goes into being being an artist. But the reward of being an artist is always more than enough!
@KelseyRodriguez2 жыл бұрын
it really is!! All the non-art stuff is a big reason why I started live-streaming, it's good to be able to make content that has basically no extra steps other than just making new work

A bullet journal is the only thing that's ever worked for me! I write my weekly tasks and every night I plan the following day, when I'm at my most relaxed. It's worked wonders

I feel you when you say that it helps you being motivated and consistent! I started my channel as a way to be more productive. By posting regularly, I know I have to create something in order to keep up, if you know what I mean

Exactly! There's definitely another end of the spectrum where having too much pressure is a bad thing, but having some expectations & deadlines definitely helps keep you on track with long-term goals

After months of “just draw regularly/everyday” and winging it, i finally came to the same conclusion that I actually need to schedule things if I want to stop feeling overwhelmed and get somewhere lol Currently doing that; it’s tough but it’s already helping by laying everything out.

I find the best exercise time for me is to wake up an hour earlier than usual and do a 15-30 minute workout so I’m not dreading it all day lol

It’s nice to be consistent! Its so hard to have a fixed schedule at home with weird hours! For a while due to the 2020 situation, I did some part time work from home and had so much time for art, videos, exercise, and even cooking! But now I’m back at work and I’m having trouble balancing, especially when I work into late evenings. Sometimes I get up so late and barely work on art in the mornings before heading back to my job. I did some thinking and I’ll be a) reducing my work hours and b) switching to morning shifts so I can be home by lunchtime to work on my art and videos! I’ll have less money because less hours, but my channel and artwork will have more much-needed attention paid to it!

I'm really enjoying your videos - in this one I found without a visual aid - like text or an image of your schedule page while you speak it was super hard for my dyslexic brain to follow what you were saying and so theres a limit to what I'm getting from it. Just cutting back and forth to a picture of your schedule page would have helped hugely. hope that comes over as constructive feed back as intended. Thanks again for all the effort, energy and generous sharing.

I definitely struggle to balance creating art that I love and my mental health. I took a break from KZbin in the fall because pushing myself to create something small each week wasn’t as valuable as creating larger pieces. I need to reconsider how I want my channel structured, because a complete painting a week is not sustainable whatsoever

As of late, I don’t have a set schedule other then having started streaming on twitch at a set time. I really want to start KZbin, and have that my main focus, you’re really showing it’s possible to grow on here. I’ve also done bullet journaling, and did see results, so I’m going to start doing that again.

People often look over bullet journaling because it isn't as powerful right out of the gate as the easier to set up online tools, but something about the analog nature of it really helps me destress. I'm glad it's working well for you! I might make some dedicated videos about bullet journaling in the future, or at least include it more heavily in vlogs going forward. Def checking out your twitch though!

My very loose plan is daily to dos, and "not to do" days. So, like print on demand is on the weekend, everything else is the weekdays. I try to make Wednesday a dot i's and cross t's tiny things day. But tbh I get interrupted so often and have depression that makes it foggy so it's all a struggle. I'm in the process of "minimalizing" a bit. Letting stuff, people, tasks go to find more silence and focus.

As re you making time to do art off camera? Do you find it helps you to be creative and push your boundaries or is it not motivating to you?
@KelseyRodriguez2 жыл бұрын
Sometimes I make art off camera in my free time, but generally my video production timeline is short enough that I film pretty much everything to have content for vlogs, Patreon, etc. I feel pretty comfy filming my art so I don't think I notice any significant changes in how willing I am to experiment, push myself, etc!
