OMG I totally lost my blue tooth ear piece years ago!! I lost it “some time” during the day. I looked in my car, all over my house, even had my three year old son helping me look in his toy box, etc. it was probably around midnight when I finally call it quits and go to get my jammies on. I took my shirt off and lo and behold, nestled right in my cleavage was that familiar blue light!! 🤣🤣🤣. PS- you should come help me and my clutter (and my marriage. At some point that day, I put my hand to my throat and realized that the necklace was no longer there. I retraced my steps to no avail, and finally concluded that I had accidentally flushed it when I had used a public washroom. I was heartbroken. Right now my Walmart is selling school supplies. I discovered the plastic crayon box holders will hold small tech cords, plugs and ear pods. Then I discovered 7 of those boxes fit into the narrow kitchen storage with the end handle. So each small box is labeled on top with the contents and the area right under the handle is labeled “cords” so when I need a tech cord I go to that box! Total cost right now. 7X .$50 = $3.50 plus the DT narrow clear kitchen bin…$1.25. Less than $5. Piece of mind and time saved from searching…priceless!

The phone story is so relatable! I use an older version of the Sterilite underbed bin with hinged lid for all my rolls of wrapping paper. It fits even the longest rolls. Gift bags, bows, tissue paper could fit, also. For your lazy susans, store round containers on them. You'll lose a lot storage space putting boxes (like Tazo) on them; those will take up less room on the shelf. You probably already know that, but maybe that'll help someone else. Thx for the video!

If you don't need the space it's great but when you're in a small room or apartment sometimes you need it. I live in a big house now but I didn't always and keeping my extra sheets helped. I don't store anything under my bed because of the dust thing, either, but the guest room at my house has literally 14" of vertical space under the bed (and that's the only room in the house with any real storage - no garage), so the things I'm keeping but that don't fit in my room go in there, either in the closets or under the bed. There is just enough clearance under my bed for my roomba, but that's it - even those low profile underbed boxes Cas showed wouldn't fit.

My favorite organizing solutions from the past couple of years: I used a two tier metal mesh shoe rack UNDER my deep desk as a printer stand and to store boxes of long-term files for our business (Target approx $25-30 US on sale & currently on sale this week again). I got a small turnable organizer designed for desks to keep on my coffee table for my remote, pens/highlighters, spare readers, kitty brush, etc. that can easily be picked up & put in a cabinet if needed (Amazon $12). For the "I need everything on top of my bedside table" conundrum, a small upright makeup organizer with the remote in the biggest section, hand cream, lip balm, Olba's inhaler, etc. Lastly, a hurricane pancaked my detached garage. So, I now have 4 rolling carts to substitute for workshop storage (Target $30-35 ea). One has tools, hardware, and fasteners. Another has all paint & supplies. A third has electrical and plumbing. The fourth has gardening stuff best kept inside. Each also has a DT pegboard zip tied to a narrow end. They can roll to wherever I am working and then roll into the lower half of a closet. I wait until what I need goes on sale, so these are the discounted prices. I'm a bee with some tendencies towards butterfly in certain situations and always want the things I use regularly immediately at hand (which can quickly turn into visual clutter).

The great thing about back to school season is that lots of organizing items go on sale - shelves, magnets, baskets, storage ottomans ... I like Target because they are reasonably good to their employees, and have a really wide price range of organizers. Choose a large Target in a college town and be sure to shop the front section of the store where they have $3 and $5 deals on organizing stuff. (Also, totally true story: there was that one time when my husky escaped from my vehicle and tracked me into Target and found me in the entryway. "Oh Hi! I know you! Where's the rawhide aisle?")

Love the “Tucker” story that’s great because I too know how the brain can misfire when you get flustered. For instance: I’m a pocket person. I’ve got to have pockets in my pants, shorts, jackets and shirts when I can. So, I was looking for money everywhere in my purse, car, pockets and forgot that lent my jacket to my granddaughter. I’d come back into the store and couldn’t find my money so, I finally see my granddaughter carrying 2 bags of my stuff that she had already paid for with the money she found in the jacket. Semi-relieved, I then realize I’d left my purse in the car and out loud in a worried breath, “OMG, my keys are in the car!”. My granddaughter laughs at me and says, “Grandma, they’re in your hand!!” 😂. I then remember locking the car with my FOB. It’s amazing how common sense can go to the wind when you get flustered. It’s not unusual to slide 2-3 pairs of reading glasses on top of my head and when I slide the 4th pair up, one falls off. Glasses are just one of those things that you misplace without even realizing it. 😂

I use the plastic pencil cases (usually $1 at Walmart as school starts) to organize my jewelry-making supplies, from findings to wire to gemstone beads. If you're old enough to remember putting VHS tapes into a drawer on their sides, in a row, so you could read the labels, then you know exactly how I manage to fit a whole lot of these pencil cases into some drawers in my craft room that are just deep enough to hold a double row of them. I label both of the long narrow sides, so there's a label facing up even if I put the case back upside-down. Even with labels, I prefer the clear cases, although I can see a use for color-coding as well.

Great picks! My go to for organising (as a cricket) is large clear pencil cases approx 30cm long, (usually 75p - £2 each here in the UK). I have all my DIY bits separated into them (3M hooks, nails, screws, sandpaper, twine, handsaw, glue gun etc) labelled on the top right corner, and lined up in a drawer like files. It is super quick and easy to flick through to find what I want and put back any bits after use. Very affordable and easy to re-label if you use up something, or buy additional ones if needed.

Another benefit to shopping at the Dollar Tree is testing out storage solution options. Even if they don't have quite the right size of container, it can still be a good idea to test out a new type of solution to see how you/your household responds to the solution in your home without breaking the bank. I hate trying out something that I paid more for only to have no one use the thing. A free way to do this same idea is to use the boxes and packaging things come in, cut to fit your space if necessary. I say test before top dollar commitments! Once again, good tips and honest reviews ♥ TFS!

I'm the happy recipient of bins family members buy and discover they don't need them. I'm using them to organize Grandma and Grandpa's things, because hubby decided everything had to come into OUR HOUSE when Grandpa went into memory care. (Gramma passed away in 2015) Their STUFF filled our son's room (he had just moved out), the garage, AND MY FRONT PORCH. I kid you not. My front porch was filled with junk for 2 years, no matter how much I cried, yelled, or bargained. Our niece took pity on me and got him to pull it all out into the driveway and sort. NOBODY wants broken Christmas ornaments, old stained clothes, and souvenirs from medicare plan seminars. Nobody. Then hubby proceeded to put all the "keeps" back into the porch. Ugh. It all only left when the home insurance company said they were coming for an inspection of our exterior, to see if it's fireproof. Yayyyy. But then it migrated into a shed next to the garage. I still call it a win. Now I've been given "permission" to go thru the stuff in our son's room. Thanks to Cas I have a plan: Everything that's trash or donations, goes. Everything that's left gets sorted and binned, labeled, and ready for family to peruse after probate. I hate this.

I love the Lazy Susan’s for use in my bathroom, kitchen and even under my plants. I have all the different sizes and colors. I can fit my daily-use bathroom items into the deeper ones. It so easy to pull them out when I need them and tuck them away when I am done. One quick tip that I’ll share when it comes to decluttering…once I have emptied out a drawer or cabinet, I look at only the items I use on a regular basis. I find a spot for them and only then do I look at what’s left over and see what room I have left. My bathroom cabinets (which are currently being repainted) only have so much space in them. I got rid of a number of items I was not using and that was only taking up space. Now I have room to tuck everything away and have clear counters (well, after the dust settles and the paint dries!). I highly recommend Lazy Susan’s!! I got mine from Amazon. Our Dollar Tree is tiny (8 aisles?)…I call it Dollar Twig. 😂 They do not have half of the items shown in the video. But I still scope them out from time to time. I use plastic baskets in my kitchen cupboards to sort packages/bags - rice, pasta, dried beans, nuts, etc. So much easier to pull a basket from the upper shelves without everything falling on top of me. The baskets are labeled for easy reference. I will admit it is an assorted lot of baskets but it does not bother me as long as they work and are easy to use.

I also like the dollar tree plastic baskets not quite square with the circle holes. Once the small basket gets full we bring to the larger laundry baskets (in garage or laundry room)

One of my favorite storage items (if you can afford them)... After I moved to a new state and was buying a new bed and mattress (I only moved with my personal items because all of my furniture was so old it didn't seem worth the money/expense to move it), so I bought a frame that 1) went ALL the way down to the floor (so I would never need to vacuum under my bed, but mostly so scaredy kitties wouldn't hide under the bed. The no vacuuming was a nice benefit!!! 👍👍👍 And, EVEN MORE IMPORTANT 2) has 6 LARGE DRAWERS in the bedframe. I personally use 4 & 1/5 of them as a my bookcase (I'm a total bookworm lol) & the other 1.5 drawers hold all of my yoga/stretching/recovery stuff (yoga mat fits too! ;) I HIGHLY RECOMMEND, whenever you next need a new bedframe, that you buy one of these frames with the drawers! You could get rid of your entire dresser in your bedroom if you wanted to store your clothes in it!🎉🎉🎉 I actually have NO dressers in my bedroom, bc I hang up all of my clothes and the folded ones I put in little stacks on the shelf above the rod, but if I didn't have SOOOOOO many books (which I AM working on downsizing/decluttering;) then I COULD use a drawer or 2 for my clothes if I wanted to 😊

I've had them 4 years now, and they are holding up nicely. The boxes I used where mostly reused cat litter boxes, as they are well made.

I got some small shelves from amazon for my kitchen to handle the constant countertop clutter. I moved into my grandparents' old house and the kitchen is terrible for modern usage and the cabinets are a nightmare, so I always had things I use daily on the countertop. I got 4 little shelf units that fit along the backsplash, shorter than 12" so they are perfect a fit under the upper cabinet on an old house. I think they were under $20 each. Completely made my kitchen usable again.

I love your story time at the end! I never knew about the wonders of the standing paper storage folder at Walmart until I saw one a couple of years ago, searching for something to store homeschool papers! It is FANTASTIC! I got a black one that looks so nice on my counter and it is so much easier for me to quickly file away the kids homeschool papers we keep from year to year.

I love your stories! LOL. My Grandma always used to lose her reading glasses and would ask me to run all over the house to find them. One time, I spent a good half-hour looking everywhere. When I returned to her empty-handed, there they were, on top of her head! lol

IKEA is my favorite place for visual organizing. The SAMLA containers have recently experienced a price hike but are still reasonably priced clear containers. Thanks to YOUR book, I know that I'm a BEE and I'm systematically replacing the opaque containers. It's empowering and I am so grateful for your insights.

Oh my gosh!!! Your story at the end 😂 I used to put my key card for work in my bra….so I went to lunch and of course couldn’t find my card so had to knock to be let back in. Called security because now I need to have it deactivated and have a new one issued -at my cost-. So I get home have dinner go to change into my jammies and low and behold what falls to the floor but my key card…Good times😅. My favorite storage bins are the clear plastic ones I got from Target for the refrigerator. Not too expensive. Maybe $5-$8 a piece. Love the video Cas 😊

I LOVE YOU CASS!! I just watched this episode and wanted to jump thru my TV while you were at Walmart to tell you about an awesome Under the Bed storage I found! It’s not a plastic bin, but more along the lines of the things you’d zip up with clothes inside, or maybe shoe hangers on back of doors… it looks like the same size as the sterilite one you showed, and it’s on wheels! It has a frame but more of a fabric outer case, but the part I love the most is it has a soft plastic lid that zips all around! I have 4 of them under my bed, and a few under all the other beds. They are great for storing clean sheets and blankets for each room, as well as anything else! I keep all my extension cords, batteries, chargers etc in one and my duct tape and random tools etc. ( I don’t have a garage or basement to store these items but these things are perfect! ) Not sure I can add a photo here, so you’ll have to trust me! Thank you for being YOU!!

If you see Space Tape at the Dollar Tree, it's wonderful. It has no hook but it's great for things that don't need a hook. It's clear, really holds weight, and removes easily. It's even water-proof; I've had some outdoors that went through rain.

Comparison shopping isn’t for me so I’m glad you made this video😊😊. I watch my granddaughters during the day and they have quite a selection of Barbies😮. I bought that bin on wheels and it is wonderful! It slides right under the bed and they just roll it out when they play. It is also shallow enough for them to search for those tiny pieces of Barbie accessories that get lost in the bottom! Great finds. Thank you 🙏 OMG! I just finished the video and the lost phone story 😂😂😂. Someone should have called it for you 😂😂😂. Then you would have been really surprised!

I *just* got a bunch of 16 gallon translucent storage boxes! 😂 It honestly is more than we need, but they were on clearance for THREE DOLLARS!!! Couldn't turn that down. We do have a lot of the heavier duty tubs, but they're solid colored. I've learned that even if it's labeled I'll forget what's in the box if I can't see it. Going to transition out of the solid colored totes and purge a bunch of stuff in the process!

I homeschool my kids and a semi-recent find has been amazing for us! I had book bins that i liked (better than others anyway) but they still weren't the greatest. Walmart has two sizes of multi-purpose bins, which are clear, open top, and have handles. The narrow ones are still 4-5 inches wide, same height as our school books and probably around 12 inches deep. They make amazing book bins and only cost 4 or 5 US dollars. Another addition to my home that's been a game changer is a three tiered rolling bin. I have many hobbies and have been trying to get them set up for easy to pull out and put away, since i can't have designated space to leave things set up. I have the rolling cart storing all my model paints and brushes, building tools, as well as room for keeping the next up or in progress projects 😁 i store it in a closet downstairs and can easily roll it out to my table and get started. It's working out great!

IKEA has some sturdy bins in various sizes (for clothes) and they have dividers, which I love! Amazon has some smaller, shallow bins with a bunch of sewn-in mesh dividers (for socks and underwear) which makes it easy to see all your sock and undie options all at once instead of having to dig around in a deep drawer/bin!

My favorite organizing containers are the ones I already have, but I'm not currently using. As for my missing wallet, I couldn't find it because it was tucked under my chin while I was looking for my wallet. Also, on a grocery day, the young man bagging my groceries lost his wedding ring in one of my bags! I told him I would bring it back once I got my bags emptied. And I found it in the first bag I emptied. When you have a little time and peace, a missing item usually presents itself.

I just love your end stories ! I am not a boob-tucker but I tend to lose my phone all the time, 95% of the time at home. The only way to find it is by making it ring. I even kept a landline for dialing the number but cancelled it when I got a smart watch that signals it to ring.

I love my rolling laundry sorting bin. My laundry room is smallish, so I love the ability to roll it around to get at things that I need. I also discipline myself to empty the bins when I wash clothes. They can be a clutter catcher if you don't watch out. You've encouraged me to make decisions on those awkward items that need washing but don't fit in a category. Like that big comforter that doesn't fit in the washer! Don't put it in the laundry room. It'll never get addressed there. It goes by the back door so you are reminded to go to the laundromat and use the big washer. Etc etc etc

Once we were leaving a birthday party that was held at a hall. I stayed to help clean up and when we all were finally leaving, I couldn't find my car keys. Everyone was searching everyone. My daughter-in-law's cousin was afraid maybe someone threw them out when removing the plastic table covers or they got thrown in the trash somehow. This poor woman actually went into the dumpster to try and find them! We ended up leaving my car there and decided we'd have my spare set mailed to us. Yes, this party was in CT. when we were visiting my son. We lived in Pa. Anyway, when we got back to their house and I was getting changed into my PJs, sure enough my keys fell out of the same area as your phone holder! Then I remembered, when I went out to my car to grab something, I tucked my keys in that special holding area to carry the large item into the party! So Cass, at least nobody went dumpster diving for your phone. They still torment me about this. If anything is missing someone suggest checking in my bra!

Fellow ADHDer here. When I was in 1st and 2nd grade, I had a habit of sticking my pencil in my ponytail. I distinctly remember in 2nd grade, I once ended up looking all over the classroom and asking most of my classmates if they'd seen my pencil - it wasn't until about the 10th one I asked that anyone asked me if I'd stuck it in my ponytail, which, of course, is where it was. Prior to getting glasses, I lost my sunglasses on my head, too - plenty of times - though usually I was the one to discover that they were there before I asked anyone to help me find them, since I only really started wearing sunglasses in high school (didn't get glasses until my senior year of college); nowadays, my sunglasses live either on my hat/visor brim or on my glasses because they clip on. I also used to lose my headband a lot during soccer practice - black and navy are really hard to see in the grass, especially since those particular headbands aren't very wide. I ended up tying a piece of that fluorescent tape stuff that they tie around wooden stakes for staking out dig lines/boundary lines, and that bright yellow made my headbands stand out in the grass no matter what color the headband was (I tied it around at the bottom, so it was usually hidden while I was wearing it, and it was short enough to not annoy the back of my neck).

ALDIs, at certain times of the year, have organization tools such as very strong shelves with plastic coating you can easily use on the kitchen. I have one on my kitchen counter with spices on top and stackable bowls under it. And I have another one in my kitchen cupboard. They come in a two-pack. They have brought in drawer organizers that are both fabric and metal and metal baskets that you can hang together or separately. All good quality for economical prices. The draw back is that you don’t know when they will be in store.

Two of my favorite storage hacks for apartment living is making more storage space without having to loose other vital cabinet space… I bought a wire shelving system from Amazon to place on top of my bedroom closet (where the shelf is too low to utilize all of the storage potential). The wired shelving system is clipped together and then zip tied for solidarity and then securely zip tied to the existing shelves in the front and back for each system, multiple times. Because the wires run horizontally on lateral shelving wires, it works. Placing Dollar Tree cloth bins inside for smaller clothes and clear Dollar Tree cutting boards taped onto the shelves for pants, jackets etc. to easily slide on/off was very useful. Labeling the bins was very useful and there are plastic bins that can fit the cloth bins perfectly. I also have a hack for converting a coat closet into a pantry. Buy a couple of wire shelves to match the one in the coat closet and then buy chain at Home Depot by the yard after you’ve measured the descending space you want to place your shelves in. Buy carabiner clips and clip the chains (at least 4chains: 2 for front and 2 for back of the shelves) to the existing shelf, two far apart in the back and two with the same distance in the front. Next, carabiner clip the next shelf underneath onto each chain and so forth. You can then cut Dollar Tree foam boards and Dollar Tree shelf liner to tape to the shelves to ensure stability for items on the shelves. Then find your favorite storage system: I buy the large tubs at Dollar Tree or Five Below to keep snacks, baking goods, bagged pasta, snacks, nuts, dried fruit and other bagged goods in…etc. On the floor, I keep slide out rice bins from Daiso and wire baskets near the floor to keep potatoes and onions in to stay cool near the ground to keep longer. I also keep a few larger bins for chips on the top shelf. If your top shelf is too low, you can buy 2 wire shelf sets, zip tie them securely to the top shelf and buy MDF to fit between the two sets of shelves to add more shelving. I cut mine (well Home Depot cut them for me) to fit tightly between the frames but if you worry, you can use peg board or drill MDF to zip tie them to the other shelving units. Now, when I move, it’s easy to disassemble and take it with me.
