Omg yes! I have so many sentimental shirts (from sports teams, not band ones), but I always think... Hey maybe I could quilt those rather than just hoarding them in the attic. But I don't really know where to start.

I bought a dress when I was 17. It was the most expensive thing I had ever bought myself. I soon grew out of it, but I could not get rid of it. Then I started losing weight, and now I wear it again, at 46 years old. You never know!!

I suggest storing the band tees away somewhere as-is (ie. not repurposing them). Some of my favourite clothes I own are my Mum's that she saved from when she was my age. Maybe your little one will be interested in them in the future, especially if you raise them listening to that kind of music. Editing to add: you could try visibly mending the ratty chewed blanket (r/visiblemending is a great place for inspiration). You could possibly add patches in the shape of rats or something of the like.

Been here since the band tee days! Echoing the Tshirt quilt idea; my grandmother made one for me out of my Scout shirts and I love it. Also you should use your wedding tiara as decor! Hang it on a wall or put it around the bottom of a plant pot or put it on a bookshelf; it's too pretty to be hidden away!

I've been saving all my old band t-shirts as they need to come out of circulation in my wardrobe, too. I'm planning to make them into a quilt of some sort, I just need enough of them to get it started (which I probably already have, honestly).

I had the exact same idea about an old hanging rack we have! I'm glad I'm not the only one crazy enough to think it, would love to see yours if you go ahead with the idea. I don't understand how trellises are so expensive 😂 I was thinking of attaching garden wire and maybe use for an evergreen plant (I did just impulse buy a star jasmine that needs a home 🤔)

You can cut up your memory pieces and make a memory quilt out of them. Add filler and maybe a favorite blanket for the back and you've got it.

Instead of storing all those large pieces of clothing, you can cut off the pieces that are interesting to you and make them into a quilt. You have not mentioned much about quilting, but I started doing it recently and it’s just sewing with a couple of different rules. You can just make little squares that contain the embroidery your grandparents did, or larger squares for the logos off your band T-shirts. It’s a great way to cut down on the space of your storage.

If you make a memory quilt from your band tshirts you could use your rat blanket as a batting layer in the middle so its being used and comforting you when you use the blanket. 😊

i'm 60, and i'd wear spongebob. my bestie is 58 and wears pokemon cross-body bags. maybe cut up the rattie blankies and use them to stuff a pillow? maybe turn the old tee shirts into a quilt? my sister did that for her daughters with their old tees they'd stopped wearing.

So you don't have any clothing rack anymore in the room ? I recently installed the mulig ikea "wall mounted" bar. So good. It takes little space and you can vaccum underneath. Makes things feel much light than a movable clothing rack !
