ORGANIZING MY DAY FOR DECORATING AND A COZY FALL DINNER (WITH FRIENDS) 🍂

Inspiration for a cozy fall dinner and table setting as I say goodbye to the last few days of October. Come spend the day with me as I share the steps I take to plan a dinner and set a table for company with the hopes of creating a cozy holiday dinner they will enjoy. I’m sharing some of my New England style tips and tricks that some might want to use themselves for holiday hosting like a pro at home, any time of the year! I will share how I choose my interior design decorations to my favorite way to throw dinner parties, I’ve got you covered.

We actually brought the Thanksgiving tree into the porch since we are having an early Thanksgiving with our family. Next year will be a big Halloween decorating year for my 60th birthday. We will be having a funeral to mourn the passing of my 59 years. (we did that on my 50th too and it was so much fun!)

Lovely video. Especially loved the napkin folding. My mums died early this year due to the heat. But I found large marigolds in yellow and orange. A cheap, quick way to add color to outside baskets.

Linda , Good morning! You did those potatoes like Samantha on Bewitched! The ring idea is so good. One summer, and summer is the key, I lost my wedding band while doing veggies. For 1 week I wouldnt let my husband take the garbage out. Every day I took the garbage apart because I hoped it was in there somewhere and I was beside myself. I found my ring stuck in one of those really flimsy veggie bags!

Such a wonderful video. When you're getting ready to entertain, I always feel as if I'm sitting at the counter watching you prep. You are, it appears anyway, at such ease in your kitchen/home. I'm pretty sure your guests feel so special in your relaxed atmosphere. It is all so lovely. Loved the napkin fold with the spiders. The hunting for "gold"😮😅 was fun to watch. I know you're going to find something special on your property. I loved how you couldn't tell where he dug up your lawn when he was finished. I add a little honey to my lime zest recipe for salmon. You make me so homesick! I lived in New England most of my entire life. P town, the Vineyard, and all of the Cape were my summer getaways. Peterborough was home my last 3 years before a necessary move to SW Fl. While my home now, a Spanish Mediterranean style bungalow, is sweet, my country girl's heart isn't here. I miss my stone walls, wildly bold fall colors, changing seasons, the smell and bone reaching warmth of my wood stove, and shopping in the very best antique and curated thrift shops like Twin Elms. It is so funny you said that since last night someone mentioned how we say it here after I ordered a dessert with pecans. He said he has a friend that lives in the south, always has, that says it our way too and I have had others say it is said both ways, regional even in the south. That I don't know, but I love how things are pronounced differently in different parts of the country.

What a wonderful video this week to enjoy with my Sunday morning coffee! I love that you shared the olive oil/sugar handscrub! I actually use that same mixture for myself quite often! A little fun tip...if you add a couple drops of lemon essential oil to it, it is great for cleaning your hands and freshening them after chopping onions and garlic! Thank you, kindred spirit!

I’m looking for a box for tea myself. I use organic loose leaf tea from a local tea shop and I buy unbleached paper tea bags with tags for labeling on Amazon. When I saw your video pop up, I paused it and made me a cup of hot tea, black tea pumpkin spice! Thanks for the tip about wax on the limes and lemons. I had never even thought about that?!! I use zest all the time and love it. I’m sure I’ll get more flavor without the wax! I just purchased some lime pepper from Badia, it’s to die for, so much flavor, try it.

The dinner, the decorations, everything looks so good! But...a spider sitting on my dinner napkin? You wouldn't really do that to me, would you? 🤣🕷️.
