This was incredibly helpful! Thank you so much! I’ll be implementing this for our upcoming school year next month 😊

I have done something similar in the past and like how you do it. At first I was a little confused but then seeing it come full circle at the end with the hanging folders and the completed work folder, it clicked!! Love this and will give it a try. The paper clips are genius by the way to ‘tag’ papers that carry over to the next day or week.

You have done better than any of the others explaining the procedure. Thank you for the step by step instructions. 😍

Thank you! I'm so glad it was helpful for you!! This system has worked for several years for my 2 children and I've never misplaced a paper, so I think it works very well!

I learned about cloth diapering from you. It only makes sense that I learn some organization from you too❤️

Omg this made my overly organized self SO happy. This is a great method that actually makes me feel more comfortable in potentially homeschooling my son next year!

This was super helpful! Thank you so much for taking time to make this video! I have a quick question. About 17 minutes in you started talking about cutting the front of the workbooks and making them nice and putting them in your teacher folder. I didn’t quite understand the purpose of this or maybe exactly what you were explaining here? I like to be super organized so I’m just wanting to do everything I can. 😅 Also where did you file all the extras like the laminated spelling tests, math practice, creative writing, poetry, etc?

Love it!! Where did you get the hanging folder please?
@jessisblessed66893 жыл бұрын
I think I got it at Target! I remember it was either $3 or $5! I think it was at the Dollar Spot at the front of Target, but it was earlier this year. You can find similar ones on Amazon and office supply stores, but they do cost more. :-/ I have another one that has 10 pockets and I use it to store some other Homeschool supplies, I got it at Office Max and I think it was about $15. Thanks for watching!!!

So do you combine all Abeka books for that grade and file them by lesson?
@jessisblessed6689 Жыл бұрын
Yes, all student worksheets, tests, speed drill, etc. :-)

I feel weird ripping books like that , do you make copies ? To use again in the future?
@jessisblessed66892 жыл бұрын
These books are sent as a bundle with the Abeka Academy curriculum and are strictly copyrighted. Even if you photocopy them the accompanying DVD's for the curriculum are rented by the year and must be returned at the end of the school year. So I do it the legal and moral way and purchase the curriculum for the year. :-) Then I rip out the pages to organize everything for the school year, my children use the rented DVDs for the year and then we return them and repeat the process for the next school year. We're also accredited, which means we have to send in tests and stuff, and there's no way to do that with photocopied pages. :-)

@@jessisblessed6689 legal and moral is what we do here in my home too. I mentioned copies because I feel weird breaking pages off a book, call me old school but I don’t like breaking and destroying things. My daughter is doing the original copies and she accredited as well.

@@Webcotton I didn't mean to imply you weren't doing things morally or legally :-) I was just saying that because I know some people don't think it's a big deal to make copies and some don't realize they're even copyrighted and that it's technically illegal to make copies. :-) As far as ripping out the pages, I agree with you if it's an actual book, I would never rip up an actual book. However, these are workbooks, meant to be written in, used, colored, graded and the tests have to be ripped out to be sent in anyways. 🤷♀️. Since the pages are going to be used anyways, I find it much, much easier- especially with multiple children- to have every week organized and ready to go. It's much more work for me to grab 20 different workbooks throughout the day, find where my kids need to be, do the page, then put the book away and get the next workbook out. Also, I don't always get to grading right away, so when my kids are done with the days pages they go in the "completed work" folder and I can grade them when I have time. I do see what you're saying, but I take care to keep all the pages nice and neat, and the pages are almost all perforated anyways, so they are clearly meant to be able to remove. It all boils down to personal preference and what works best for your family. :-) I do what works for us, I love and respect the Abeka curriculum and tearing out the pages is in no way trying to disrespect or destroy anything. I know many families who use Abeka also use the "crate system". :-) I'm actually getting ready to make a new video preparing for this school year again. 💓😁 I hope you have a lovely, amazing school year!!

When do you grade them?
@jessisblessed66892 жыл бұрын
Ideally each day, however I keep a folder marked tests for each kiddo and sometimes I don't get around to grading until it's time to send the tests in. It just depends on how busy Mama is :-)
