i really like her style of teaching. She makes things simple enough for a beginner but not too slow for more advanced folders.

Hi Sara I only have Kami paper and only 15x15cm can you recommend projects that I can make with it and where in Germany I can buy other good paper but not to expensive
@Happyfolding9 жыл бұрын
+Tardis Companion (Clara) You can always buy wrapping paper and cut it to squares yourself. Kraftpapier has very distinct, thin lines, and is excellent for folding: www.happyfolding.com/paper-review_kraft - this post includes some images of models I folded using that paper. As to recommended projects, it really depends on your preference and folding skill. Kami is suitable for a wide range. Modulars should almost all be possible and most, if not all, models I classify as intermediate or lower. For an easy way to filter by difficulty, check www.happyfolding.com/videos?video_type=24 -- hope this helps!

@Happyfolding6 жыл бұрын
Check out 1:37 of the video to follow the first steps. Then always half the distance between either two crease lines, or between a corner and the first crease line on the hexagon. You can also view kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKLGk4GBjM6mnpo which explains how to accurately fold a square grid. The same tips apply for folding a triangle grid accurately. Hope this helps!

Sara, I'm confused. In the video you state this is a jumping off point for the Star Puff by Ralf Konrad. I clicked on that video and noticed the division of 16th's proceeded along the base of a hexagon, but in the Triphelia you had the precreasing done point to point. Will the Star Puff work if creased from point to point and not edge to edge?
@ianluk63858 жыл бұрын
I tried with a 32X32 grid, somehow it didn't work despite the fact that I had done one with a 16X16 grid just before.

Hi Sara, thank you for another wonderful video! I look forward to folding this, I'm just debating whether I want to go with a 32 division grid or not!

What happens if I fold edge to edge and not corner to corner?
@Happyfolding8 жыл бұрын
The triangle twists at the edge will be partly cut off, rather than aligning with the edge of the model. It doesn't look as clean, but you may like the look, still.

@Happyfolding9 жыл бұрын
+JonathanShSl Most tessellations have a wonderful backlighting effect. Have you tried the Celtic Circle by Robin Scholz? Or Mystery by Ilan Garibi? Or Five-and-Four by Eric Gjerde? There's videos on KZbin for all these models and I find their backlighting effect especially striking.

Confused: you say to make all folds in both directions so they are genderless but then later you refer to the mountain folds?
@robinscholz79819 жыл бұрын
+Chris Lott (fncll) the "genderless" creases are important for the gird lines because you don't know beforehand which part of a grid line will be mountain and which will be valley in the final model. if you make them genderless they will move easily in either direction. later, when you fold the pattern, you may well use the grid lines as mountain folds.

I believe the recording quality is high enough now that I do not mark the paper anymore. Sometimes drawing in crease lines can be more distracting than helpful, especially as the model progresses.

It's actually not that difficult a tessellation, so if you feel comfortable with folding an accurate grid, do try folding this model!
