Thanks for folding!! Unfortunately I don't take design requests for free since I have very limited time. I also specialize in mostly humans, so I do not have experience with saber tooth tigers. Sorry!

Hello @OrigamibyBoice I really like your videos It is common that art galleries exhibit paintings and sculptures but I wonder if it's interesting to include origami models Do you think art collectors would be interested to acquire origami models from an established visual artist if he managed to design original models?
@OrigamiByBoice Жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! I think some art galleries have interests but in my experience it is quite difficult to find consistent galleries. Often times galleries look for wall hanging art more than sculptures. The ones with sculptures usually have a specific theme to display, so making origami for galleries can be challenging. Art collectors are interested in some origami models. I have sold quite a few to some collectors, but it is not easy to do.

I am trying to design a type of knight. I have a pleated arm but no extra flap for a sword. any way to make a sword from the pleated arm? can u also pls recommend where I can get a big enough paper for this in the UK? I love ur tutorials and models... u earned a sub!
@OrigamiByBoice Жыл бұрын
Origami design is a subtractive art, so you probably can't "add" an arm. You would need to plan to allocate more paper space to include both the arm and sword. I recommend watching the recordings of the 5 hour design challenges or my design live streams to see examples. As for paper in the UK, there are tons of options from local shops or from shops that ship from Germany and France. Amazon also has plenty. Use this link for some options: www.obb.design/skillissue Thanks for the sub!

@@OrigamiByBoice thanks very much but I can’t find the paper in pounds. Very time I try to order big papers the currencies are wrong. Is there any way to change the prices so it is pounds (so I don’t have to convert to gbp)?

@@OrigamiByBoice I made this from a 32 by 32 grid. What grid should I use if I want to make a sword? And Also how can you make crease patterns for your models?
@OrigamiByBoice Жыл бұрын
@@Masterozo78 not sure since I dont live in the UK
@OrigamiByBoice Жыл бұрын
@@Masterozo78 You should watch the Plant Psychologist design class. It sounds like you still need to learn and practice some design basics! The answers you are looking for are from there! But "how long" depends on the rest of the proportions for your model. If your character has 3 grid units for the body, 8 for legs, 5 for arms, then the sword should probably be around 4. Or however large you want it compared to the rest of the model.

You can wet shape with methyl cellulose and let it dry, or you can use glue
