I played this song for my older brother. A veteran in the Air Force who volunteered for the army. He had a guy they named big Dave. He didn’t make it. My brother holds this song so dear!!!!!! Thank you Colter!!!! Your songs cross so many hearts!!!!! Keep the songs coming!!!! We love you!!!!!!!

So here’s a cool story. This song was written by Colter and my brothers best friend Dave McMurray. That’s why it’s called me and big Dave! Dave wrote the music and colter wrote the lyrics! It’s a really cool story!! I know it sounds made up but I swear it’s true! Dave met him at a music convention and he told colter he wanted to be a country singer so colter sat down with him and they wrote this song together!

I love this "cowboy" chord progression, and I love how this guy plays it. This is the same chord progression that is used in Kenny Rogers' "You Picked a Fine Time to Leave Me Lucille, among many others. But Colter does it real service.

I totally agree in terms of how great this dude is. Heard him for the first time just now. He reminds me a lot of my all time favorite Johnny Cash. I can strongly recommend Hank 3, with his country/rebel/western music also.
