I love this bag. I have never been good at tying bows, so that's how you do it. Thankyou very much for this. My cousin is having an op soon and I am going to look after her. I have been thinking about a cheer up present I could sew for her. This is it. Who doesn't need a tote bag. I will buy some sturdy curtain fabric in my favourite Australian designer, Jocelyn Proust. I love her fabrics. I am off to Spotlight this very day!

I love that B&W striped fabric with the big pink roses. In fact, I bought a couple of yards of it at Hobby Lobby - it was in the bargain bin, and I got the last of the bolt. I thought it would be perfect to make a really interesting binding - looks scrappy, without actually BEING scrappy. I love to make binding out of interesting fabrics. Thanks for the tote bag tips.

Great instructions and I am so making that straw turner! I have a long thin metal turner, but it sometimes either pokes the fabric or gets caught on a thread while turning. I think the straw idea will be easier to use. The tote is beautiful and I love that stripe flower fabric. Thank you for sharing!

Beautiful tote bag, Tracy! Love your fabric choices and the pink polka dot bow is perfect on the bag. Nice to know that I'm not the only person that makes rookie mistakes! Don't know about you, but I've made the same rookie mistake twice on the same project. 😭 Felt like crying then, but now laugh about it. 😆LOL!!!! So glad that you didn't get farther into the project before realizing that your strap was twisted. THAT would have been a catastrophe!!! Love your videos! Bloopers and all!!!!

I've done it both ways....if your machine can handle the bulk then go for it...if not then close the flange edge without a bow💕
