It was so fun listening to you talking & giggling. Then you said stop talking ALREADY. What joy I felt as I could hear my precious Mom say that phrase. She passed away 1996. She was a fabulous seamstress. I learned so many things from her that helped me become a very good sewer. I’m nearly 80 & love sewing still. Continue teaching & modeling for people who don’t know how to sew using a pattern.

Thank you for explaining things step by step. This will be my first time sewing anything together. Wish me luck.😊
@darbfred123 жыл бұрын
This is a great tutorial. I just finished making my first bag using this method and have some tips. I didn't have the pre-quilted cotton on hand so used 2 layers of cotton + Warm & Natural quilt batting. It sews together very well; however, when topstitching the upper piece over the handles, it's really thick. Use a heavy-duty/leather needle. Wish I thought of this before I broke a needle! When topstitching, I sewed across the handle, turned the entire unit and sewed the handle to the top piece. When I got back to where the seams meet, I sewed over the handle piece a second time. Seemed easier to me than starting and stopping to attach the 4 handle areas plus reinforces the strap by the seam. Lastly, overall this is an easy, fun and functional bag and can be adjusted to any size you'd like. My handles were 21" long and I could have made them longer, as some of it is taken up when you sew them to the upper piece. Because I used batting, it was very thick to pull through the upper piece. I actually put on my gripper glove to help it along. For a more lightweight bag, this could be made easily without the batting. Glad I found this channel and tutorial!
@TheSewingChannel3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for all of the awesome tips that you just gave all of us!✅ The batting fabric on my bag in the video was actually very very thin… So it was pretty easy to make with this bag. I’m so happy that you found my channel! Thanks for watching💛

I know it has been a year. I hope it was not a leather needle. I hope you tried again with fleece or thinner bating. I was thinking I would do the same or maybe just two pieces without the batting. I looking for a easy bag to use up some of may fabric.
