@@rawspitt Don't mention it my brotha'. It was certainly a pleasure watching you and your dance partner do your craft for around a decade. You two cats, "Big Louie", "Tom Tom", Derek "D" Fox, just to name a few, yawl were like TV celebrities/personalities, being that you were on the show pretty much weekly, and yawl stood out. I'm not ashamed to admit that I admired you and Fanta-C the most, because I considered you guy's as the best male dancers, in my most wildest dreams, I couldn't begin to be able to dance like you two, 😄. I’m Mexican, came to the US when I was 6/7 at around 9 (year 88) we started watching soul train. We grew up in South Central, went to Ascot Ave. Elm., Carver Jr. (too) and Jefferson. Black culture was normal to us and we picked it up fast, Every Saturday morning my sister and I watched it and she learned to battle dance or for the fashion. I wanted to hear the popular music and we had a good time with it. Man this brings back so many good memories, good times. Being from South Central we picked up accents that were not favorable in our culture but we saw no barriers. Thank you Soul Train.

My most memorable dance routine they had was during the soultrain line when Jesse Johnson's song Crazay was playing. Diesel was talking to a girl on stage and Fanta-C walks up to her with his arm extended and takes her away. Diesel looked shocked, and then shrugged his shoulders and started dancing. I laugh everytime I watch it.

@@rawspitt Wow! Diesel is that you? I consider it an honor that you would respond to my post. I grew up watching y'all. There was a routine when you took Fanta-c's woman and a routine when he took your woman. The clip when you took his women is on this video, but there's was a clip when he takes yours. It was in the soultrain line during Jesse Johnson's Crazay song. You were wearing a black leather outfit. KZbin took it down for some reason.

Margaret McCall, I see you know your Soul Train history baby girl. What’s up?its your boy diesel thanks for the love. yeah we were third generation behind those great dance as you just mention they paved the way for fantasy and I to do everything that we did on the show. Don gave us a lot of leeway to kind of do whatever we wanted to do so we brought it how we saw fit. Thanks for the love we really appreciate you glad that you are a part of us.

I believe in that principle. I'm sure they had a good time, but Soul Train wouldn't have been a thing without those incredible dancers. They were making a lot of money for the show. Who was living good from all that money? Not the kids. They got payed in chicken. Those kids influenced the world of dancing and fashion and personality and they were payed in fried chicken. I will always have love for the show and especially for Don Cornelius but those kids made that whole show. Where else were they supposed to go to get noticed? It's not like Nickelodeon was hiring Black and Asian kids lol! I admit, I would have loved to see Shaba doo on Hey Dude.
