It's not always in the magnet, I've a pair of SL - C6.2 Rainbow Components and there magnets are somewhere in between. Best speakers I've invested in so far. Previously, I've used Pioneer, Alpine, Infinity, Orion, Kenwood and Cadence (not necessarily in that order). Proper wire is also important but you don't need to spend big money on them. I have purchased 14 awg from an audio shop which wasn't too expensive and did the job fine. Amps are a different story all together, good speakers need to be complimented with a good amp (in my opinion). With my Rainbows, I matched them with a Hertz amp which I am happy with. Speaker placement and proper use of Sound Deadener is another must that some people leave out.

Get some focal and JL in there lol. I was running some 6.5" jl c3s but I recently swapped out for some Focal Flax 6.5. They sound amazing. The detail and accuracy these speakers have amazes me every ride. In case anybody was wondering I'm pushing them with an Audiocontrol LC4.800. Very nice amp 👌🏽

Totally agree Josh get some Focal and JL on there. I have had the Flax 165mm splits you mention on my desk where i am sitting now in custom piano black boxes for a year. I revised the boxes for them about a year ago and made the slightly smaller enclosures i have now cause i had other Focal speakers previous to the Flax. Everything i hear through Focal speakers has more detail and accuracy than anything else i have heard. The previous to these Flax where some 165mm Focal Polyglass V1 and have had them for 10 Years and they still sound superb after all that use and are back in my car where they started off for another few years with a Focal Solid Amp driving them. Focal is the best in SQ in the world in my opinion, love both pairs have.

Liked and subscribed. I’ve been doing installs for over 20 years. My first system was in a1979 dodge. I ran pioneer 4 way 6x9 had a pioneer CD player before mp3 even, ran Sony 5 inch 2 ways in the front and had an advent 200w amp running to an old school red surround 12” in a ported box. For my first system I was pretty proud. And I was 16. I’ve had a triple 12 sub setup in my back seat of my cutlass that blew out my rear window. Sound wasn’t high quality but loud. Now in my 97 Lincoln mark viii, I run 2 sets kenwood 6.5 mids 1 inch hard dome tweeter components off a 600w kenwood excelon 4 channel amp. I also ghave a kenwood excelon deck and a kenwood 1000w Rms sub amp running a audiopipe tdx4 12 inch subwoofer. Separate components sound killer. Refined crossovers help and 1000w rms subwoofer is enough thump to get noticed but it doesn’t make me uncomfortable. Basically I’ve heard cheap stereos that will blow you away and expensive ones that sound like there stuck in the mud. A lot of refining and trial and error you can achieve almost anything.

I was a huge Rockford fanboy when I started off with car audio, I bought a pair of their pro 6.5s and 1.5 tweeters but felt like I wasn’t getting the best bang for my buck. I switched over to four deaf bonce Arnold 6.5s and two T25 neo tweeters on a AAK201.4D and man this setup is louder than the two Rockfords 6.5s and four Rockford 6x9s

DS18 with Super twitter is a damn beast. Installed on my Road Glide with a Soundigital amp. I can do 90mph and the music is still loud enough to hurts my ears. Amazingly the sound quality is clear

I love the DS-18 6.5in. I've experienced them in action in all my friends cars. They're really loud in my opinion, I'm going to replace my Kenwood's in my Acura Legend with them and use a 1000watt 4channel to run them with 6x9 in the rear

I’m a Rockford type of guy. I’ve been using them for years . I still have my P3D4-15” from 2001. They still hit hard plus I can’t seem to find them anymore. I like the quality of the speakers and the company itself is easy to get in contact with. I even have A P3D4-10” along with a Rockford T2 power series which I need to recone. Oh by the way. Good starting point but even though they are mid to mid bass drivers you should have also emphasized that each driver should be installed in the recommended type of enclosure. Some may say free air but that’s a lazy way or no other option way because like subs an enclosure for the most part can enhance the overall sound immensely.

They are mid range not mid bass. No enclosure needed maybe a plastic pod but not sealed enclosure. The crossover should be set at 125 hz

I have a set of Cobalt CM65 midrange pushed by a XTR500.4 and im very satisfied with them, stay away from the Cobalt line of amps(unless you get them dirt cheap) but Cobalt speakers seem to be good quality.

I made the mistake of buying cheap speakers when I first got into car audio. The QC and frequency response/SQ of these speakers are hit and miss. After switching speakers around multiple times wasting money and ripping my vehicle apart repeatedly I finally broke down and paid for Hertz MLKs. Only regret is I wish I wouldn't have cheaped out the first three times. Sometimes speakers are more expensive simply because they are better, Hybrid Audio make true SQ speakers and have very little marketing. So it's not always about marketing. My advice for any body building a system for SQ don't cheap out. If your mostly going for SPL or want better sound than stock then yeah most of these speakers are will work just fine. If you really want to test these speakers against higher priced speakers then run a sweep with an RTA and graph each response. You will see the difference.

Actually it would mean "nothing" Each speaker works best in another volume of housing and the car interior is important too... Check your budget and just choose your speaker according to dimensions, look and overall feel of reviews. In the end, you will never know which speaker would be best. And a mediocre speaker in a good install and dsp/setup will sound better than a very good speaker thats installed badly

OMG. What a lot of work. Iv been comparing subwoofers to amps for last 3 months what alot of work. It seems like nothing matches up nothing is exactly what u need or want.. U can get close but not perfect... Then just when you find something then you dought your self cuz you might find it cheaper or it not have any reviews so then you change your mind when really it is the best speaker... Then I need to purchase the mid range after I pick out my amp and box...man what alot of work... Just don't know with all these brands... I'm working on two set ups right now one for my 16 daughter she said she wants it to sound really good and wants to be able to hear the words when she turns it up and not just Bass.. thanks I subscribed. Im telling you man i love bass midbass vocals and highs and i like you had bought lots to try but in 10' in 6 i have tryed prvs ds18 jbl audiopipe orions and faital pro . On the 6 the ds18 burn the fastest orions the loudest faitalpro fe200 cleanest. On the 8 18sound and beyma loudests cleanest allways. Ive tryed b&c on 10s and love them so will love tho have some small ones for a sq build i want to try

Yea I got 2 hx2s and 2 tweeters mounted on the pillars of the door I need a replacement my speakers are 18 years old kenwood dual mag components in the front and rockford fosgate fanatics 6x9 in the back time to replace it's been a hell of ride for those speakers. I heard orion was clear but in the video he has the one I dont want not a fan of built in tweeters. I also heard infinity ref-6530cx was good but I'm not sure about running 3 ohm speakers when I have a jvc kw-r930bts and 4ohm 6x9s in the back idk if that would cause major problems. Do the orions sound better than infinities?

This will be a great video once all the speakers come inn. I have the massive audio rk6 and the lanzar opti6 both have taken a beating and hang in well. They are both oversize 6.5" so 7". Ran off an old school zeus 2000.4 and they hit like subs. Many hours of sound treatment later. Subscribed

1)The best budget/ loudest 6.5 speakers ever made were the 6.5 power acoustic pro neos. They were $45 each! and would blow away these speakers! but now discontinued.. 2. The best 6.5 speaker is the bayma neodymium pros. Alout cleaner than the power acoustic neodymium.. but more pricy $150 each. Loud and sound quality! 3) ds18 absolutely suck balls! And copys other companys technology but adds lower quality parts period! Born in the flemarkets. 4) prv audio for 10s 12s are great There 6.5s and 8s are up there but not as good as bayma 6.5s or 8s. But there 12s can take aloud of power and sound good. Im talking there high end 10s and 12s... 5. B and c. I would only buy 21" woofers from them and thats it. 6. Sundown. Great for subwoofers but there 6.5s and 8s never impressed me. I have had and installed every brand you could ever mention. old school new school you name it. Good luck! 👍

You are right about hertz. I’ve bought 4 speakers from them and one it’s burned. And then I ordered the tweeters from ds18 and I was impressed. So now I bought another 2 speakers mid range ds18 6,5.

So far U talked me into some skar super tweeters for my car but I been paying close attention to ur channel now so I can upgrade my wife's truck and my van, my best friend has the Orion's in his car and they are the cleanest sounding speakers I've heard but the price was too high for me, I ended up buying Hertz second hand from a close friend but keep doing these tests man so I can help others like u for that bargain sound for the bargain price

I definitely appreciate this video, I'm on a budget as I bought an 05 Honda Accord 4 door that needs lots of tlc (great interior and the body is perfect) but it needs new shocks, struts, motor mounts, rotors, pads, etc.. but the radio doesn't work and the door speakers crackle. I plan to put subs but I know for sure I'll upgrade the 6.5's and 6x9'. Thank you so much bro

Great reviews, seems more reliable than most. I have the logic 7 (W204) and I am in the process of only changing out the door speakers.I have already installed the pioneer TS-A1680f in the front doors and I am looking for a matching pair to compliment them. I am looking at the JBL club 6522 and the JBL GTO629. I love punchy bass tones.Am I making a good match here? Relying on your advice. Thanks.....

Question for you. Not sure if you respond. I just purchased a 1995 skyline r33. And I wanna get a good set of meds and highs to go along with a 12 inch sub digital dynamics. The issue is I play everything from rock music to the orchestra to strong vocal. Are used to be in the SPL game Wayback in the day but that senses changed. Anything you can recommend as a 6.5 shell amount for the front and a good Fill 6 1/2 for the rear to accommodate a 12 inch sub?
