I love the xtr 6.5 components I've had 2 sets 1 on my front and 1 on the rear doors for couple of years now and I just finished adding 2 pairs of of the xtr pro xpm8"s to both sets making them into a 3 way component sets running it all active off a dsp and man it sounds so good orion needs to make a 3way setup even if they just did it with a 6.5",4" & the xtr tweet it'd still sound so good

The Pioneers hold more midbass better: Look at his reactions throughout the 1st song!!🤔 But the orions have a better overall balanced sound. I prefer more midbass with a tweeter added separately. the Orion's are great speakers but they're Too damn BIG!! Too much modifying to do look how big the spacer rings are!! Like Mike says we need Neo versions of these and other loudspeakers GREAT video👍👍

jason mason yeah, that’s what I was thinking. I guess if you have the room and have a good EQ and X- Over system, the Orion would be choice. The pioneer with a good tweeter will do just as good. I think the Orion is good if your running a lot of power. Plus it depends if you get 8 or 4 ohms. That will have an effect on your set up.

I had the hcca 64n I have the XTR 64n and mobile quartz 216 series ,,mobile courts are the same in height as the hcca 64's the xtr64n are 3/4 in shorter much more shallow speaker,,((mid& High only , nothing lower than 150 Hertz on the xtr64n

LIFE IN SPEED Mike Angels man why don’t you break the speakers up a little more? Your calling it the best midrange /midbass but it looks like you have a lot of coaxials on the table. Mid range/mid bass speaker should be dedicated to mid range and mid bass- not which one sounds more clear. EDIT: clear would be a good thing, what I meant was which one does full range best in other words no highs necessary to win. After all it is a mid range. But to each his own! Love your vids tho , but as long as your testing can I ask that favor? Lol

XPM654MBF is no longer available and neither is the HCCA64NHP - pisses me off the 2 speakers I want are both discontinued... I ordered the HCCA64NHP and they sent me the HCCA68NHP and I requested a swap, they told me the HCCA64NHP is no longer available and HCCA68NHP was only one left and the only 4ohm in that class was HCCA64N at 100w RMS less AND get this... the PRICE was HIGHER! FFS, Orion left a bad taste in my mouth after this... they called me yesterday to deal with this and nothing... All I wanted was a refund, I guess I will go DS18 now.

At first I was thinking the Pioneer Pro was disappointing in this test - but after more listening, I'm beginning to feel as though the Orion sounds louder because it has more dynamic range - however, what I'm questioning is how each speaker would sound when properly paired-up with a tweeter/bullet etc, to produce a full sound - because now, I'm thinking the Orion may result in an overly bright setup, as there will be overlap between the mid to high frequency - which may or may not work against it, in terms of overall sound balance and quality. Does that make any sense?

Every component has a sound signature. Like each speaker will never sound the same and the EQ will not be able to make it sound like another speaker because of the bleeding of frequencies into each other making it complex. It's better to start off with a sound signature which you like.

Brickhouse Lazer Arnold or Sylvester however what I’m interested in is the mid bass in my application and as I understand it the Sylvester is better for mid bass. Everyone has their own tastes however, but my midrange/mid bass is cover to about 150hz so I’m looking at the Sylvester !

john lanciloti the sylvesters will give you a warmer sound and have a little bit more midbass, however with the arnolds , its more midrange, i generally cross mine over at 120, currently have a set of v1s in a minivan , and two sets of arnold v2s in my buddies scion xd. While the bass is blended to match, both will get down for sure.
