This holding value nonsense is going to ruin the watch market. Buy for love not for value. If you're concerned about resale value, surely you are buying the wrong watch in the first place.

JamesBardolphCS if you’re concerned about resale value you buy second hand a save 40-50%. It’s something to be aware of and it is important because many buyers may want to sell on in the future whether they intend to or not.

Alexander Vic I’ve got an Oris watch , I bought it pre owned at a much reduced price and I am impressed by the quality and robustness of the watch. I own other brands and I am not in the market for a $7500 Oris I admit, but I’d stop short “some way short”, actually of ever describing the brand as garbage. Bremont also gets it in the neck from you in your comments & whilst I will concede it’s not a brand I do or am ever likely to consider purchasing, I wouldn’t call it garbage either, if we’re going to have a handful of brands that are deemed acceptable & the fifty or so companies beneath them marked down as rubbish then watch appreciation & innovation of horology is doomed Alexander. It’s not that I don’t think garbage exists, it’s that Oris aren’t that , it’s not escaped me that in life there are people who like to look down on others & take a shit on them if the perceive that their watch choices mark them out as the “lesser”, but it’s that mindset that really is garbage............not Oris.

Alexander Vic thanks for calling a spade a spade. This is an expensive watch launched by a sub par company - it’s almost Rolex money!! Absolutely incredible. The movement isn’t even in house and the 10 day power reserve is crap - for the last two days of that its +4/-6 a day!! Wtf

Megatron wants his watch back. It's gorgeous... absolutely gorgeous. But at $7k, it's in the big boy league. You can pick up a second hand sub for similar price and it will hold its value for many years, whereas this might not. Oris 65 holds its value well. It's one watch that surprised everyone, and a nice little investment. I just hope this does the same as the 65. But it's sharp angles might not be to everyone's tastes.

I’m honestly impressed with Oris. Skeleton watches are not my thing. But I’m impressed that instead of just resting on vintage inspired diver after vintage inspired diver, the put soo much energy into the design of something so bold and different. The price is high, but justified that they had to do so much RnD. Just like Omegas new $48,000 titanium movement aqua terra, it’s expensive to try something new.... glad you enjoyed your trip Adrian!

Adrian, great you're there and met Rolf and the watch. I think it's an awesome bold watch!... and Oris's Attitude and approach to things is admirable. I'm wearing a BB58 while watching your video and I understand your remarks and observations, but I actually could see myself having the X. It reminds me a little bit to the IWC GST PC ref. 3756-03 in the way that it uses a "conventional" body or model and re-thinks it completely with a high complication and "sportive" look. Congrats to Oris!

Basically have loved the idea of Oris, but never purchased one. The originality of this piece is cool...not my style either, but they’ve definitely put it out there with their own in-house movement. Love your video, and will look at more in the future. Personally, I am mesmerized by this watch, and was fortunate enough, yesterday, to apparently be the first customer in Canada to purchase one. Normally, I am a Diver 65 kind of guy, and I own two, but I just love watches in all shapes, sizes and configurations. I love what I call the "industrial" look of this watch, and how Oris achieved it by having absolutely no polished surfaces anywhere, on case, bracelet or movement. The main attraction for me, however, is the human interaction one has with the watch. For me a skeleton watch has to me a manually wound movement. Having the huge mainspring and large power reserve indicator visible when winding and seeing the movement come to life is simply grand. Without any date function or other complications, it allows all the parts to be more visible. Well, I could ramble on forever about this watch. Funny thing is that, barely two weeks ago, I picked up a Zenith A384 Revival watch from the very same AD (a favorite AD, Time & Gold here in Vancouver), a perfect reissue of a vintage watch. Now, here I am with the latest, most up-to-date, beautifully engineered modern watch! By the way, I love the Rolex Explorer 1 36mm like your's, and it is the only watch I have ever regretted selling. I totally understand your love of that one. Cheers, Carl

@@robertnorth1681 That's true. I quite like these series of movements and watches. I haven't got them just because they don't suit my small wrist (but I don't blame Oris for that).

Great content! i really like Oris. im a fan of what they have been dong. This ProPilot X is a nice change of pace in the watch world and for them. I also admire the fact that Oris isnt really concerned with what other watch brands are doing or what the trends are. I am excited to see where they go in the coming years and what new pieces they have for us in the future.

It is certainly different and interesting. Good to see them evolving the brand. Nice too for you to get a free trip out of it, quite a perk. Even better if they let you have a watch too.

I wholeheartedly congratulate Rolf, at least in my perception Oris has elevated itself from one of many generic brands in the sub 2k range to the leader of the pack. I hope we will see more inhouse and innovation in a more subtle design in the future. Skeletons are not my thing but I get why they did it.

Liked it. Didn't love it. For $3k more you get a zenith defy el primero 21 skeleton

Бојан Павловић how’s defy being a terrible watch? I think it looks amazing, power reserve is not the only thing that matters.

@@doublekevyks7249 power reserve is a little bit overrated I think. Focusing on the skeleton subject, the whole defy collection is better looking than this oris. And that clasp....I don't know.

Good design as the looks busy dial but easy to read on the large 44mm diameter, more interesting things is with the design of bezel and the bracelet that for the large 44mm dial is go so well and make a perfect fit even with a small wrist size men. Not showy, but looks cool 😎.

Really love that bracelet! Not a huge fan of the fact that the clasp flairs out but that's just a minor niggle. Love the watch! Way to big for my tiny wrist though.

It would be perfect in your collection along with the Quartz GS. Add a Hublot and you got the winning combo.

Hell yeah, Adrian. Great content in this one. Informative. The watch, love Oris. Love my Aquis. The quality for cost is incredible. That being said, The cost on this watch is prohibitive. I don’t think Oris’s target market is going to spring for this piece, and those that have the scratch to do so, likely aren’t looking at Oris anyways. their eyes are on the bigger boys (Rolex...). Oris sells well at around 2k or under.

If the watch runs -4 to + 6 sec it is COSC spec. But the thing is that it should be able to stay within that range for 4 - 5 years to prove very higth quality an not just for 2 - 3 years. We will see i the future. About the size. Most people will get use to it, but the very good tjing is that is it titanium. It must feel lite, and because og the size if it is being worn a little tight, then you properly won´t feel the size at all. But you can see it. a 12 days full powerreserve where it proberly runs very stabile the first 10 days is remarcebel. Perhaos if the make it run 2,5 HZ and not 3 hz, thy can get it to run for 10 days but have a 40 - 42 mm case instead.

Design feels very Fighter Jet-esque. I quite like it. I'm not huge on skeletonized so I would love to see a more traditional dial with this movement and perhaps some polished bits on the case for some contrast, but yeah overall I like it.
