@@Self-replicating_whatnot I have no idea how it's done specifically but they've apparently figured out something out. I've seen videos before where rehabbers have paired orphaned animals up with an older one to help teach them. I've also read about how they do a "soft release" with seals and the release is a very gradual process vs just chucking them in the ocean one day and that's it. I know they also put trackers on them so they can monitor their progress. Nevertheless, there's a decent amount of info online from different rehabs if you're interested in reading about it.

@muratti72muc2 жыл бұрын
it's simple because they know that a bond to a wild animal makes the animal to a pet. Means +30 years in a small pool and a small cage for the animal. Also +30 years care and food for the animal means no space for other baby seals. No human contact is the best for a wild animal. Often they rescue the baby seal to early because of humans who see a baby seal alone on the beach. This "fat" baby in the video was maybe just waiting for her mother. She was at the ocean for hunting and then it is normal that the baby lie alone for hours on the beach. When the mother see humans she will not come back because humans are bigger means a predator for her. This oyster farms in the tide zones are a problem because most of the time there are no humans. Without humans this tables at the oyster farms are a save place for the baby seals for waiting and with the tide the mother come back but only when she see no humans.

I hear she knocked out one staff member with her flipper-slaps. She stole her keys but without thumbs she couldn't open the door. 🚪

It’s folks like the rescuers in the video, who don’t seek recognition, but deserve it. There are so many people like them that deserve our attention and support. God bless you. ❤️

I'm a full grown man, and when I saw that rubber toy, act as a mom, it broke my heart! I cannot beleive this! I understand why they did it and I'm glad they did it.. but that sight was extremely sad to watch!😪

This made me get a bit teary eyed at the end seeing them released. Also a bit scary for the young seals to not be going back to their safe home where food is plentiful and harm doesn't exist. Great work of the caregivers to get them healthy and ready to live a free life.

@okay Yeah, typically for people its not really animals that kill us but all the other stuff, diseases, carried by bugs, and parasites in water, and food. Starvation, dehydration. Modernized people cant make it in actual nature typically, or if they can, a lot of laws will have to broken, from hunting and fishing laws, and more.
