We experienced the same last year, so we decided to skip this year to see if they'd get the planing back on track. It's sad to see it didn't work out 😔 Good news is that there seem to be many new smaller festivals popping up.

Auf dem WGT kann man nach wie vor unglaublich gute Bands entdecken, die man noch nicht kannte. Für mich zumindest dieses Jahr Dernière Volonté und Ostara. Das Problem der Überfüllung von Locations ist schwer zu lösen. Vielleicht sollte man den Kohlrabizirkus wieder einbeziehen, wenn er denn endlich mal renoviert worden ist.

I really appreciate your honest review! I noticed that many bands I wanted to see were scheduled at the same time, and had to make some tough choices. For me, the best part of travelling to the WGT is getting to see my friends from all over the world (and making new ones). However, I sometimes feel that the organizers take our community's loyalty for granted, and that also goes for their choices of artists, given their backgrounds. Also I would add I heard many people saying next year will go only to attend the Gothic Pogo (which btw it was a great event overall!). Anyway, I'm glad you liked Mr. Racoon, who travelled across the sea to find a new cozy home in Belgium! Even though you won't be attending next year, I hope we can meet again. About your videos, do what feels right for you, either goth content, makeup tutorials or just vlogs. Speaking as a long-time follower, I would be happy to see you on Twitch for some DJing!

Im sorry your trip was ruined! I feel like that for a few festivals and I have skipped some too, I think it is post-COVID has really changed it and every year its more and more people going out. Its becoming more of a pain, especially those of us with social anxiety. I 2nd the comment about DJing on Twitch. I know your passion is music so it might be a more fun thing! I love every single video you put out though but want you to be happy

I'm conflicted as its starting to sound like WGT has become a victim of its own success. I planned to go next year but I have to travel, find a sitter for my dog and someone to look after my house and with the considerable expense, it really doesn't seem worth it. I also would like to say how much I value your contribution and honesty in these videos. It actually means a lot.

I think that despite the bad and good points that the festival may have, it is definitely an experience that you have to live is unique. Seeing how the city is full of goths is something that impresses especially on your first time.

Thank you for your honesty - I think sometimes people do want to give the impression that they’re always having the best time and doing everything they wanted to do at events for content purposes and unfortunately that’s not true of every experience. It’s a shame you didn’t enjoy the festival this year, I’m sorry it was a disappointment. Hopefully upcoming events will make up for it.

I have heard so many people say that WGT this year was a let-down. 😢 That makes me so sad because I've been dreaming of going since 2006, but I've never been able to go for various reasons

We can understand you very much and this WGT was the first WGT we attended just to meet friends and a few bands if they were not playing at the same time in different places. The band selection this year was a disaster and not worthy of a festival of this size. Maybe the 4000 less visitors this year were also a sign. We were at the Westbad at the same time as you to see Forzen Plasma and had to be there earlier, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to see them. Not good for the nightclub fans of course but we saw them for the first time and didn't have them on the list and they make great music. If it's like this again next year we probably won't be attending WGT regularly in the long run. For us, WGT is always like a long awaited vacation. But the Mera is coming up soon and maybe we'll see each other.

This year Mera luna and Amphi have good line-up. Organisation of WGT should move it even outside of city if necessary for people who come to festival.

If you're ever interested in going outside of Europe, I strongly suggest coming to Dark Force Fest next year in Parsippany, NJ. It's gotten bigger each year, but it still has that small community feeling to it. It's super chill, and I love that no matter what you make friends there. Alot of my friends and I have said it's like the East Coast version of WGT. I'm sorry that your experience at WGT was a bad one. I am planning on going there next year (as well as Dark Force Fest), so I'm hoping it'll be my first good experience. 🖤🖤🖤

Hallo there my good friend. It sucks to hear that for you, alas, the festival was really dull and that there was really nothing of interest for you. While the alternating days all of the other acts that you preferred were pretty much playing at the same time so I can also see why that would also be _SUPER_ frustrating. Not to mention the "token system for drinks" also seems overpriced. I'm an American; everything here in North America is also becoming unusually overpriced items wise for this continent over the last decade. So I can also sympathize. It's why I prefer to only grocery shop as to eat & drink at home. I also have Asperger's Syndrome so overly long lines & a full hour wait or so (such as our overrated amusement parks here in N. America) also grates on me. So I totally don't blame you for not wanting to go next year. Sounded like a bit of a rip off.🦇🐈‍⬛🖤🕸🎃

Too bad it was a let down for you however I do agree they should get a bigger venue and know their capacity limits at the shows. I've only been to 2 and it was packed even back then

sorry, but I think you sound really a bit spoiled...🤔🙁 let me explain what I mean by that: ( yet as I am from Germany and not exactly German looking, I wouldn't ever go to Leibzig anyway, but thought a few years ago to go to Goth festivals, so I watched some vlogs and so on about goth festivals out of curiosity. ) I think usually vlogs are for people who are from the outside who are interested into whatever it really is, (I am interested so far ranged into things that are new to me or just, well, interesting and the WGT sure is interesting and I was thinking about the goth world at that time), so I think you could have easily made a vlog, and still people would have enjoyed, but you seem to be very much an "insider", by which I mean a very much gate-keeping insider (even though a positive one who might have a reason to be one😉) and I got your last video you made about that topic, and I sure got what you meant and I agreed with it, but still think you are acting very one-sided with the whole subject.. no idea if you can follow what I mean... I don't mean to be mean here. I just think you could maybe step back a little and look at the whole thing from afar and then come back to it, (to make vlogs, perhaps), and there you maybe see what I mean with gatekeeping too, you are too much looking at it from your own self and your own people, so from the inner circle too much, and not letting anyone in, so you can't look at it in a positive way either... I get the festivals maybe got too big and so too overcrowded like it usually happens with festivals and parties which are made slowly known to the outside... if you get my meaning, but that doesn't mean your view from the inside wouldn't be interesting to inside goths or other people who want to see what this festival actually is . Just wanted to let you know, it could still have been an enjoyable vlog. ;-) no matter what. But it is your decision, of course. ;-) plus, the heat issue maybe has to do with the climate too and that there are so many places now that overheat.. people just have to adjust in this day and age, so also people who organize events.
