Thanks for the thorough review! As a fellow splitboarder, this pack seems to have it all. I've seen some other packs that I've really liked but didn't have the snowboard carry. I think this may be the winner for this season!

How do you think the back panel would be in the summer months? Thank you for reviewing this, from photos I thought for sure that the front access to the main compartment went all the way around the top so you could open the front of the bag like a book. Boy was I way off!

I would think the wool blend would be nice for hiking. I feel like I get warm when touring in the winter, and sweat a good amount. So, it would translate to hiking in warmer months well. It is a good pack for sure. Thanks for the stoke!

Nice tour of this pack, thank you. People sleep on Ortovox; I stumbled onto some of their funky Swisswool clothes and I've been sold on them ever since. I have a Gregory Zulu40 which I've quite enjoyed in 3-seasons, but I'm finding it a little limiting on options for winter: snowshoe attachment, and waterproofness. This Peak 45L looks pretty dope.

Thank you for the kind words and for checking this out. I am impressed with Ortovox as well. I really like their shovels too. This pack has been very useful and versatile. Hope you like it too!

This defiantly checks a lot of boxes for me. I am really not into bucket load backpacks, but with larger sizes that's pretty much the only option. The ability to access the main body of the backpack through the side is one of the biggest selling points. That plus plenty of attachment points and versatility in use. This is the product tour I've been needing on this pack, I appreciate it. Have you used it overnight?

Glad you appreciate the review! It definitely checked a lot of boxes for me as well. I have not used it overnight yet. For me, it would be too small for how I would camp. But I tend to over pack :)

Makes sense for cold weather camping or guiding for a group. Thank you! Hope you have a great season.

Did you ever have issues with the back panel starting to smell? I know wool is antimicrobial but it’s not foolproof and needs washing occasionally, which I assume isn’t possible with this? Cheers for another great video, even though I’m a bit late to this one

Hello! That is a great question. I have not had it get smelly. But if and when it does, I will just give it a bath in the sink with some Sports Suds or Nikwax. Thanks for the nice note and great question! Take care :)

Quick question, it should come with 2 extra straps with buckles for snow shoes across the back as well as 2 Velcro loops for ice axe/ crampons correct? I just got mine but there were no extra straps.

That is what came with mine. They were in the top pocket. Hope you find them! If not, I am sure they will send them out to you.

Excellent review, thanks for sharing !! Have you had a chance to use it for an overnight trip w sleeping gear/tent/cooking kit etc? wondering if it expands enough for that on a winter trip
@Engearment
@Engearment 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Dean! 🙌. I have not used it on a fun winter camping trip yet. With all the lash points, I found see adding several stuff sacks for sleeping bag, tent and pad. With the usual backcountry gear. I just used it for boot packing with a regular snowboard and extra camera gear. Worked very well. It is easily one of my favorite, if not favorite, large backcountry packs. Hope that helps! ⛷🏕🏂

Thx for the review, too little reviews on YT of this backpack at the moment! Question : how much would have wanted the main zipper to be on the backpanel, and not in the front ? How many little blue velcro are provided with the bag ? Also, have you tried putting skis in the A-frame position ? Do the side-straps look solid and durable ? Also... (sorry), there is an external zipper on the lid, but no internal zipper, right ?

Thank you! I like back panel access as well. But did enjoy the external zip. Two Velcro straps included. Yes, works well. One internal small pocket in the lid. Hope that helps!

Nice! Have you checked out their new (LVS) beacon with voice function?

Not yet! Was hoping to see them this week at Outdoor Retailer. I will check that out though. What do you know about it? Or questions you may have for us to ask them?

@@Engearment Hello I got myself one for Christmas after using a Mammut beacon with merely 2Antenna tech for about two decades. I like it. It can appear to be kind of funky on the visual (arrow guiding) I still think it’s awesome. I like the voice feature and that it is a rechargable one. So adios batteries. And It should be a solid option hence they give 5years warranty once registered. Updates to come and after using it once or twice it’s like a Bugatti compared to my previous beacon:)

Hi! Awsome reviews you guys deliver! I have seen both your targhee 45(ft) video and this one. For me they seem pretty similar, but with some different features. I therefore wanted to know which one of the three you would prefer and why? Peak 45, targhee 45 ft and regular?
@Engearment

Hello! Thanks for the kind note! I prefer the Peak 45 overall. It covers all the needs I have and feels good while wearing it. Hope that helps!
