Oshkosh at its Busiest! Rapid-Fire Departures - Saturday Part 4 - EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2021

When the world's busiest airport lives up to the title! Morning haze kept all VFR departures grounded on Saturday, July 31st. As soon as the airport was opened, aircraft flooded the taxiways wanting to head home. The volunteers and air traffic controllers worked together to launch approximately 400 aircraft in about 90 minutes - about one takeoff every 13 seconds!

Considering the audio, the perspective I'd love to see is at the mix point of the taxiway and runway. Then you could see how and why the controller is directing the aircraft to move and see them take off without panning. Still a great video, thanks for posting!

We got to go out there in 2019! The problem is because it's so loud and the real ATC is out there we can't exactly set up a speaker for the comms. Check this series out: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fIjdaaWegqdrbqM We were actually going to go out to the same spot for this traffic rush but it was SO busy we couldn't get escorted out there once it started. Hopefully we can get out there again next year!

We were planning on leaving Saturday but the haze and barely vfr conditions and lots of slower airplanes than us , we decided to wait for Sunday departure and better visibility.

I appreciate the frenzy that you are trying to capture, but you hold on to the shot for too long, and miss some aircraft. As soon as it's perpendicular to you, you should be moving on to the next aircraft. It's much more fun to watch the aircraft take off than to watch it's backside flying away. :)

A big chunk of this video was filmed by a friend who had never filmed anything at a show before - a bit of a 'try out'. I think he did pretty good for a first time!

I appreciate the feed back and I will keep that in mind if @airshostuffvideos gives me another shot. I was holding out longer because we had already seen a few aircraft struggle to get off the ground. I was afraid to cut back to early on account I may miss something.
