would this be ok for a solid oak kitchen floor with your normal spills and splashes ??

The Polyx Oil is the original hard wax oil from Osmo suitable for most interior wooden surfaces. It is perfect for wooden floors, doors, kitchen worktops, furniture and more. It provides a tough, durable and water repellent finish that is Scratch and scuff-resistant, whilst protecting against liquid spills, The Polyx Oil Raw contains 1.25% white pigment that is designed to keep Oak and other blond woods lighter.

Would this product work on a parquet floor? It's a mixture of dark and light wood. I'm trying to avoid an orange/yellow tone on the lighter pieces? Also how do you apply with the grain for parquet flooring, as the pieces run in both directions. Thanks!

Thank you for your enquiry, The Osmo Polyx Oil Raw is specifically designed to better retain the natural, untreated appearance of lighter coloured timbers such as Oak and Pine. This product contains 1.25% white pigment which can be visible if applied to darker timbers and for that reason I don't think this product would be suitable for your project. Please note that when applying products to parquet flooring you apply it with the grain for 1 coat and then in the opposite direction for the next coat. Therefor always applying with the grain 50% of the time. Please consider this system which is also designed to keep the wood lighter and would be more suitable for your flooring; 1 coat of this product; www.wood-finishes-direct.com/product/bona-natural-primer Followed by 2 coats of this product www.wood-finishes-direct.com/product/bona-traffic-hd-raw I hope this helps. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you require any further information or you would like to place an order.

Hi, quick and potentially silly question but do you do the microfibre clothe wipe down immediately after applying the oil? Also, any tips for coverage? For example, in the video did Jay re-dip the brush for that panel or was that whole area done with one dip of the brush? Thanks!
@WoodFinishesDirect3 жыл бұрын
Hey Joseph! Thanks for the comment. We do stock these microfibre cloths - bit.ly/3yHYKpS And yeah, you should load the brush as you go, typically aim to work in sections or by planks/boards. If you have any other questions dont hesitate to ask, theres no such thing as a silly question. Ben

@@WoodFinishesDirect thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I’m not sure either question was answered…..do you do the microfibre wipe down immediately after applying the oil? Or wait a certain period of time before doing so? Also, how often should you reload the brush? A good guide would be to say how often it should be reloaded for the size of panel being used in the video. Would one dip suffice for that area? Or two?

@@josephwright6368 Thanks for your reply. I misread r.e. the cloths - but there is no "rule" as application is not really an exact science - it depends on a lot of variables. Such as, type of wood, project, environment etc etc etc. The Typical advice is work in manageable areas, such as a board/plank/section at a time loading to as how thirsty etc the wood is. And removal of excess just once you've finished your board/plank/section. With the oak worktop in the video, that has been freshly sanded- probably 2-5 times depending on how the wood reacts, again, its not an exact science. Just need to make sure its applied thinly and excess is removed. Ben

Can this be used on doors? The osmo door oil leaves a darker finish whereas this is supposed to leave a more untreated colour which is what I want
@WoodFinishesDirect2 жыл бұрын
Hi. This product can be used on solid wood internal doors. Its recommended for paler woods such as pine, spruce or oak. If you have paler veneer doors we would recommend using the Osmo door oil 3033 and that will also give a raw finish. This product needs to be applied thinly to avoid getting a build-up of white pigment. This product is not suitable for hardwood. I hope this helps and if you have any more questions give our friendly technical advisers a call back on 01303213838 Wood Finishes Direct

120 grit seams abit rough tbh. Ive just completed a beech slab coffee table ive sanded through to 220 will this product still be ok. I orginally went for liberon finishing oil but dont like the tint i love this natural finish on your osmo raw 3044. Please dont tell me i have to sand again lol.
