Obviously, the heavy head part is a universal experience, but can we talk about that instant where his head turned into a swirling, dizzy mush of liquified goop? Or the parts where it's so hard for him to keep his eyes working they start shaking and drifting without his control? Those are things I NEVER in a million years thought I'd get to hear, or see, of someone else not only relating to those sensations, but finding a creative way to clearly visualize it in a way almost everyone can empathize with. I would try so so hard to stay awake, but no matter what i did, my head would eventually just, fall forward, onto the desk, or just hang, or even I'd just give up and lay my arms on my desk and sleep. Back in 8th grade our science teacher would sometimes see how miserable we were in class, as we were preparing for the national high school enterence exam, and let us sleep for a couple of minutes before starting his lecture. I'm in university now but i still remember the empathy in his eyes and it still means a lot to me. Him seeing beyond the conventional student image and realizing that we were actually human beings, children in fact, who were mentally drained was so important and it kept me going most days. I still ring him up or go to my middle school see him every now and then.

When I was in high school we had just gotten done with midterms and everyone was dragging hard. Our history teacher started the lesson and about 5 minutes in he saw most of the people struggling to stay awake or were barely paying attention. He stopped the lecture and told us all it was a free day and we could study, catch up on homework, talk quietly or take a nap at our desks. It was our time. I'll never forget that day and the lesson he taught me: one of the greatest things you can give to someone is their time back.

idk if its so much about tactics. at my job i have to watch work safety videos and theyre long and boring and feel like a waste of time just like any class in school, and if im not doing something while watching them, like doodling or taking notes, playing with a puzzle toy, i fall right asleep, even if ive slept well the night before. the brain runs on dopamine and other hormones that make us feel good and alive. without that, if were solely focused on a monotone lifeless voice or the squeaking of a marker on a board, were gonna fall asleep. its only natural. if i was allowed to doodle in class or chat quietly with friends, so long as i got my work done and proved what i learned in my tests, whats the harm? kids crave and need those feel good hormones more than anyone in their later years. were not robots, were monkeys, monkeys that wear suits and talk funny and like things to be a certain way, but were still monkeys. we need happiness. the teachers are monkeys too. they dont wanna drag everyone down with this structured curriculum that theyve been told they need to teach, they wanna be inspired, they wanna show children their passion for what they know and what those kids are capable of. the teachers arent the problem, its the government that wont accept any other form of learning as worth a degree. i had a literary teacher that actually said, fuck english class, im going to teach you guys some college level rhetoric and through that youll also naturally learn all you need to pass an average english class, and we did. and her class was challenging and fun and interesting. nobody had problems paying attention or behaving because everyone wanted to be there, everyone loved her class. sadly it didnt count as an english credit because she didnt follow the instructed course for english. her class was removed from the system before the year was up. dont blame the teachers, theyre trying their best with what theyve got, blame The Man.

I know. My mother complains that she never sees me until like 12 am every night and she doesn't get to spend time with me. Time waits for no man. And in a few years I have to leave. School has stolen my time with my family.

I remember watching thisshort years ago, and to this day imstill fascinated hby it, everything is just so amazing, from the soundtrack, to the visuals, to the animation, the colors, everything is very fitting to the situation, and explains in a super realistic way how tiredness in school or anywhere else feels like, and even though its such a simple concept or ordinary. event, it still resonates in my heart, and i can never forget this short. thanks for everyone that worked in this masterpiece
