they say it isn't a good use of time. But I mean, remember the well of donations or whatever it was? I think they are a good way to raise charity and be a gold sink. I'd donate a few million gold or maybe drop $10 directly for a charity event and it IS really entertaining. With that new nuke option that auto deposits the items in the bank, it is immensely satisfying and the bots cant escape. I'd love a bi-annual bot busting charity even. Maybe just 2 hours of bot busting for a good cause you know?

A couple things there. 1. They don't ban immediately, as you can see here obviously they ban in waves. This makes it harder for botters to know how they got caught. AND 2. If they let you PK them it would defeat the purpose of bot busting, which is to ban botters and more importantly, remove the botted items & gold from the economy.

Most bots are actually run in networks by just a couple people who then sell off the gold to resellers as a full time job. Very very very few bots are being run on actual peoples accounts since anyone with half a brain (even professional botters) know that all bot accounts get banned eventually. Botters move all their wealth to other accounts frequently because they know it will be banned any moment. If you aren't willing to grind 100's of hours to meet quest requirements, then play a different game. Don't bot. It's common in the Skyrim community to see people with over 3000 hours played, and that's a totally offline game. It's not unreasonable of developers to ask for you to put in the time to accomplish things.

They don't IP ban because most providers use dynamic IP addressing you'd end up with almost every IP banned eventually. They may use it for profiling accounts though seeing if accounts are linked.

The accounts were identified as bots by there bot detection system long before this started. Plus you know Mod Weath doing his job. Created a world that only Jmods can access and the bots cannot log out. Forced them into F2P areas (note a lot of these are members accounts being botted so Zulrah etc.) so they couldn't escape. Then killed them as they went a long and the people running the bots would be none the wiser.

They would first have to screen the report for the bot, set the bot detection system on the reported account, and once the system can confirm its sharing consistantly bot behavior, it will determine its %100 a bot and funnel it into the bot/mod only server for it to be nuked or publicly displayed. Multiply that by a couple hundred thousand.
