I got my mum onto D3 combined with K2 and unfortunately she fell and broke her hip in December. Again, best doctor around! I am frequently questioning and disturbed by the fact that the majority of doctors do not promote, educate or advocate this information. Its unbelievable. I work in aged care, and every resident admitted with a diagnosis of Osteoporosis is immediately commenced on Calcium carbonate, with no blood tests done for Vit D levels or any other relevant levels, and the poor families are left paying exorbitant amounts for calcium tablets when it is not the solution, yet the families feel obliged to pay for this despite its complete ineffectiveness. We need more doctors like you Dr Berg. If every doctor had the knowledge, skill set and willingness to educate their patients the way you do, imagine the health benefits for society as a whole. We love you, I wish you were my sole lecturer at Uni whilst undertaking my RN degree.

On the subject of Osteoporosis: There's also the interruption of the hydroxyapatite crystalline lattice in bones by the introduction of Fluorine ions (from "fluoride" or "fluorine-containing" chemicals). Fluorapatite has a differently-sized structure, so can cause porous bones where it displaces Calcium-based apatite. It's like building a brick house with differently-sized bricks - the core structure will be irregular, less strong, and have holes/cavities in its structure. So, when doctors give patients fluoride tablets to treat osteoporosis, to apparently "strengthen bones", they're doing a disservice to the patient.

I knew this was not the solution, so I refused and didn’t go back. Later on, a doctor convinced me I needed to take one of the Fosomax type meds. Three years later, no real bone increase. Finally I read about vitamin K2!!! Two years after taking K2 and Vit D my bone mass increased by 20%. I made the mistake of telling my GP this and handing her a research paper that I had found on NIH website. Our Canadian doctors DO NOT study anything about nutrition!!! This month she has refused to renew my other medications unless I come to see her. (Kowtow to her superior power.) Right now I am furious but will have to keep my mouth shut since Canada is low on GP’s now and with medicare, the worse impact is you cannot just up and change doctors, even if you can find one.

I only ate blueberries in my smoothie post workout because I worked out fasted, so the fructose in the blueberries is used to replenish resources instead of kicking me out of ketosis.

@@rhi3953, first, you should address the RA. Diet is everything. You probably need to work on your diet to manage your RA better. Then your joints will be in better shape for exercise. However, Swimming is great low resistance exercise. You might even think about holding a couple dumbbells while walking back and forth.
@derek2593 Жыл бұрын
Also, the keto diet is best for lean weight gain. On keto, your body produces EXTRA HGH (human growth hormone). That said, it is difficult for your average person. I manage it well, but because I primarily eat food I make. I only eat out a couple times a year. But, if you eat out AT ALL, be aware that most public eateries use large amounts of soybean oil. On keto, poor quality oils will put you in rough shape (especially if you are female. Soy is full of psuedoestrogens that can easily cause female problems). When your body is using fats for energy, poor quality fats affect you more. My wife supplements with krill oil capsules and natural sea salt to keep her hormones balanced. And, she has psoriatic arthritis. She has managed to get off all her prescriptions except for one. And, she seems more energetic than I have seen her in about 15 years. Again, DIET is everything.

Sounds like you need to get off of gluten, which I assume you have done. It will destroy the intestinal villa which will impede absorption of minerals and nutrients. It's not really a question of gluten sensitivity because it's a given it will do this to everyone over time. Did you mean GERD? (Not GORD?) That means you are low in stomach acid and can't digest food well enough to extract minerals. The sphincter muscle between the stomach and esophagus will not close unless there is enough stomach acid. It's not because there is too much stomach acid. I believe it needs to be at least 3.5 pH. If you can, do whole food Vit C. Ascorbic acid is really not good. A toxin actually that will also chelate minerals. It can also actually create a state of scurvy because it is not the full complex of Vit C. Good luck to you.

B/c the oxalates are already bound (oxalates are what keep flower stems rigid btw), they do not harm people eating them-but as you say can interfere with the body being able to properly absorb the calcium in certain veggies. @@kathyharmon2093 If osteoporosis is not hereditary then explain to me and others why my grandmother had it, her five daughters, my twin sister and I. As for my diet, it includes mostly vegetables, fruit, meat, a wide variety of nuts. I do not eat processed food ever. I am also very athletic; have been my entire life. My Mom's side of the family are all small framed; one of the common characteristics for getting osteoporosis. There are many doctors who have patients that have had very good results with fosamax. It's been know for years that a small percentage of patients experience the jaw issue and femur fracture. That normally happens when taking the drug well over five years. It should be noted that all drugs can have some rare and serious side effects. Still, you need to weigh out the benefits. I'm not sure where you got the information that osteoporosis is not hereditary. There is tons of medical studies that show a very strong hereditary factor.

Good info. The only part that is incorrect is do NOT get your calcium from dairy, as it's also in the carbonate form. The only calcium that actually gets into the CELLS of the bones is algae-based calcium since algae is a single-celled organism. You can find this type of calcium in Organic Plant Calcium from Garden of Life, and there are also a few other brands. Finally, we need to add boron and strontium as minerals, not mentioned in this video, to help rebuild the bones from the inside out.

My diet has always been made from scratch no processed foods, no hydrogenated oils. I buy only avocado oil to cook in. I love leafy greens and have lots of fresh vegetables. My problem is I struggle with malabsorption. Just like my dad. I have had to get ferriton and blood transfusions in the past. But I have managed to move my numbers up on the low end of the scale. I've been taking vit D since the beginning of covid, magnesium for years; also have been a runner, walker, did strength training. But I also have Hashimotos/hypothyroidism, have taken thyroid, mostly synthetic/generic, for 15 years. Started having back issues, like joints were just loose, so they'd move, with subsequent pain (inflammation?) and a feeling of instability that would last for up to 6 weeks. Husband finally made me get a DEXA scan, and lo, I have very advanced osteoporosis (age 61). I was aghast, especially after reading that thyroid meds can be involved. The DEXA technician was the first I'd ever heard of hyperparathyroidism, (still don't know if that's a factor in my case,) and no medical professional (I have to get blood tests yearly, so I see one whether I want to or not,) ever discussed what I should be eating/taking/watching out for with regard to my bones even after I broke my wrist. Maybe nothing would have made a difference, but I suspect it's more like, "We've got a med, we'll. just deal with it when it comes up." And maybe I wouldn't have listened/taken them seriously anyway. I WAS...not exactly healthy, but I was managing. But now I read comments from many comments from people younger than me--"fractured pelvis while running half marathon, just kept going," --that make me wonder, and maybe realize that if you DO things like distance running, you have in a sense trained yourself to override pain, and to keep going even when you're literally broken, pushed yourself to a place where your body has to come to a screeching halt before you'll actually listen? Well, I'm listening now. I hope it's not too late (to turn bone loss around without throwing down another pharmaceutical that no one educates me about.)

I take and have faithfully taken D3/K2 and magnesium for years. But it is the work I'm doing to eliminate heavy metals...removing an amalgam filling from 1998, iodine and infrared light, and now aloe leaf to coat my intestine to prevent reabsorption of what I'm eliminating that is increasing my vitality by leaps and bounds. No supplement can fully perform it's job if your cells are holding those metals and focusing on their elimination should be a solid focal point for everyone since graphene is used in the spike proteins proliferating our world now. Thank you so much, Dr Berg, for dispelling the calcium myth...among others 🤗

My ex fianceé had a bone wasting disease that came from a tumor that somehow inhibited the hormones that signal the osteoclasts to build new bone. At the time (2002 or so) there were only about 15 cases documented in medical literature. Another complications was that the tumors were non site specific - i.e. they could be found in different parts of the body. That made it hard to pin down. She eventually recovered but I think that may have been from going back to Korea and eating kimchi every day.
