I often ask myself if those mappers even think that way or if most of those concepts are implimented instinctively.

Great, this is actually very help full. You should try to promote these videos in some way so that everybody who is looking for tutorials and help to begin mapping would have access to those. The osu academy channel would actually be a great place for it imho. And the stuff that is there currently is way too basic and/or confusing or promoting the "find out by yourself" mentality.
@pishifat8 жыл бұрын
promoting is something i'd rather wait to do until i have a decent amount of content. these are already getting more exposure than i expected they would lol if i ever do promote them though, i don't think it would be through osu academy. its mapping videos are painful
@defnitely_not_me18438 жыл бұрын
+pishifat Exactly! Besides, thank you for putting out so much great content. I don't know how you manage to map so much high quality stuff.

I'd love a video about flowmapping, e.g. when to flowmap, when to break flow, stuff like that. That's always kinda confused me.

Oh man, somebody help me please. I've been working on my first map for about 12 hours now and I always find new things I should have implemented. I reworked quite a lot already and I'm at a little more than half of the map and have just found out about different slider velocities, different volume of sounds and all of the timing panel in general... Then I still don't know how I do certain things, like, I'd really like someone to help me as I think I'd throw the towel soon. I'm overwhelmed by how much you have to think of! (and I just wanted to play more songs I actually like :/) I don't want to rework everything a second or third time, but I also can't not if I know I could've made the map way better with the new factors I found out. It would be nice if I could get some feedback first, I also don't know anyone who could give me some.

I probably wouldn't define streams as hitcircles that go fast and overlap each other, mainly because spaced streams and stream jumps exist. The other deal is that some songs use 1/4 as jumps (i.e highscore by fort). Plus 1/2 rhythms are stacked sometimes.
@pishifat8 жыл бұрын
i used the most common spacing trends to explain spacing concepts. if mappers understand the concepts, they can hopefully use them to make spaced streams, streamjumps, and drastically different bpm intuitive too.
@osuology8 жыл бұрын
***** Yeah, that's true. I do understand this was for beginner mappers but I just wanted to say.
@Fauzan18128 жыл бұрын
1/4 as jumps at 110bpm... yeah literally 1/2 at 220bpm
@osuology8 жыл бұрын
AncuL Well, yes but that doesn't change the fact that highscore still is made with 1/4 jumps.
@commentator35138 жыл бұрын
but you also have to factor in bpm. For example, high bpm 1/2s like Kyouran Hey Kids could be 1/4 spaced streams if you halve the bpm
