Cursor on osu PS4 controller= super smooth and linear Mouse =smooth Pen= kinda shaking but smooth Wii mote = playing with mouse on trampoline which is on the softest fluffiest giant pillow while earthquake and hurricane hit your house simultaneously

Hey pishifat, there is another option! Mouse+Tablet+Keyboard! As a left handed person that uses his left hand for his tablet but right hand for his mouse I often find myself mapping with tablet, mouse AND keyboard, with my right hand being permanently on my mouse and my left hand permanently holding the pen while moving between the tablet and mouse. I basically used the mouse for concrete movements while using the tablet for big movements.

How would touchscreen rate with this? i suppose you dont have a touchscreen, but id be curious to know about that. also just a note, some tablets let you change or disable the buttons, so you can drag the pen so you dont shake. covering the tablet would also work. if you drag then you wouldnt have to worry nearly as much about shaking and inaccuracy with cursor movement and the placement of objects.

it works kinda, but windows' drivers by default are very hard to use. If you have custom drivers, it might be worth a try.

Mapping with a tablet isn't too bad as long as you spend time getting your keybinds and scroll wheel function where you want them to be. I personally have scroll wheel bound to a button on my pen for easy volume adjustments while playing. I just have to drag my pen on the tablet up or down while pressing the button and it works as a scroll wheel. Not sure if this is possible on the tablet you used but it's possible on my Wacom CTL-480. Also being used to using a tablet helps a lot with precise movements.

I map using my giant 15.6 inch gaomon pen display tablet right in front of me and my laptop behind it, my pen tablet to my right side (for play testing), and my keyboard to my left for all the shortcuts and what not. It's pretty comfortable in my opinion, but I do wish I had an easier way of moving my gaomon tablet out of the way whenever I decide to play test my maps.

Wouldn't it be easier to map with a tablet if you disable the tablet clicking (so that you can drag the pen on the tablet), and just remap your mouse buttons to something on your keyboard? Just a thought.

You know, all of my map I actually use tablet. I never use mouse, because my mouse won't work (button is broken, aim is ok), and I can hover in the same place calmly.

Something to add, you could have made it easier to map with a tablet by lowering the sensitivity of the track pad and making it require more distance to travel to move things, this would lower some of the shake because it requires bigger movements to move the cursor.

trackpad is much better if the laptop has buttons (i play FPS’s and MINECRAFT + osu mapping using only laptop touchpad bcus it has mous buttons below the touchpad)

The issues you had with tablet mapping were pretty strange. Can't you use the arrow keys with your left hand? And the shaky aim would've been eliminated by changing the tablet area to a larger one and holding the pen like an actual pen instead of using the osu player grip.

Hey pishi, I have a question. It seems as though every modern map nowadays is mapped on a perfect isometric grid. How are mappers able to do this? Do they do it through distance snap, eyeballing it, or something else, like an external program? Every time I create a map, the arrangement looks clunky and off-putting because I don't align my circles and sliders in a triangular fashion, but I feel as though if I tried to make every object look perfect, it would be too time consuming and somewhat limiting for my object placement. I just don't understand. Would it be possible to rank a map without using an isometric grid? If you happen to reply, thanks in advance.
