I love Mazzerin so much. His dedication to pushing difficulty and broadening the musical representation of the game is super admirable from me.

the game needs more people like him that push their own unique style and musical representation in the game such an incredibly large amount of maps are so bland and such generic music its crazy.

the jumps are actually a personfication of the music in this specific part. i use circles to demonstrate the difference between notes in the music through detailed examination of the instruments and their heritages, which led me to their placements on the playfield. see, if i had chosen to do a more common placement with geometric patterns or something of the like, i would be making a poor choice because the music is not quite that simple. during my examination of hte music, i chose to look into the origin of the snare drum and the bass drum, through which i discovered that these instruments were not made at the same time at all. in fact, they were designed by two different people who said that they each expressed sounds that had no resemblance to each other. due to the dichotomy of musicalization in this specific instance, i believe that simplifying placements to a degree of normal "geometric design with logic" would be unfitting. in fact, as silly as it may sound, not having logic is the most logical choice when contrasting snare and bass drums played consecutively like this. there is too much depth to the idea of a "jump" in osu and i tehrefore cannot go on any longer, but i plead that you expand your base of knowledge when examining drums and modding maps yourself. it could come in handy and you won't need anyone else to explain this basic information again ;)

Even though I don't really like metal music, Mazzerin still stood out to me in the first few weeks of my time playing osu. Even though I never could (and probably never will) pass his maps without the help of the all-powerful relax mod, I still found them to be some of my favorites, and because of that he's the only mapper that hasn't really been active recently that I follow closely. At one point, my end goals for playing osu in general was to be the first person to nomod fc one of his maps, and to pass him on the global pp rankings. Though I've changed my goals for playing osu, he still remains one of my largest influences to improve my skill. So, I guess what I'm saying is, thanks for the video, pishifat, very informative.

I quite respect Mazzerin tbh. He is the one mapper who help make way for mappers today to rank a hard maps by pushing the limits again and again so that the community will accept it. Imagine being the only mapper in the whole community that strive to rank harder and harder maps without giving up their thoughts even getting bashed by the backlash from the community. It sure is hard. Really hope to see more maps by Mazzerin

Each era needs its own controversial mappers - whether that's NatsumeRin in the old days, some of mine or val0108's maps in 2012 or Mazzerin in 2014. Someone has to break the mould of what becomes the norm so that mapping doesn't grow stale, and ideas don't go to waste.

"Followpoint aesthetic" YOU CALLED?? I remember having a very similar experience to what happened with Apparition way back on EX-Termination also, having it sit on the top of the star priority list for a long time and exhausting pretty much every single BAT, back when people refused to mod maps they couldn't mechanically execute - "I can't play/pass it" was a real hurdle to ranking hard maps until Apparition, and it's something I remember having to deal with for almost every map. That's for some history of "why people didn't rank hard maps back then".
@namgibot6 ай бұрын
What’s crazy now is 5 digits can now play ex-termination, as a newer player your maps in particular have made me enjoy this game more (as a dragonforce fan)
@vaarka75346 жыл бұрын
If I remember correctly, Apparition almost got ranked in early-mid 2015 and it was only 7.8*, which was still insane considering the hardest 7* (SR-wise) at the time was Everything Will Freeze, which had only recently been ranked. It then got unranked and bumped back up to 8*. I may be wrong though
