Hey, your place looks great! The little nook you have your desk in is perfect but consider turning it around and put your chair in the nook space with the desk facing the other way. It would maximize the aesthetics of the space and give you a great view. Plus, the chair color would work better for the space and blend with the wall. Tuck the cord for the lamp into a cord hiding unit. That would look so chic. I just read some of the other commenters and their suggestions are (mostly) on point. Mirrors would elevate the space on the walls opposite the windows, and make the space feel bigger and more bring more light. (Think circles and squares and geometric shapes to go with your style, with minimal frames in natural wood like oak, teak or sandalwood.) Never put furniture too close to floor to ceiling windows or it will downgrade the space. Very nice apartment to get motivated! I hope you get the track installed in your bedroom and get your blackout curtains up soon. Good sleep Is essential and your apartment being so high up definitely catches every light reflection in the city! (Please note, these are just my suggestions, I’m sure you will make the space look great no matter what you choose to do!) love your vlogs, and main channel. And your sis’ channel as well. I have NO IDEA how you edit with a track pad!! I use a macbook but I have it docked to two 4K monitors and mouse/keyboard. I've tried using just the laptop and I feel so handicapped 😩 I'm a full time video editor so I'm on it at least 8 hours a day.

I suggest throwing a huge piece of art (bright color) on the wall above your desk and get a bold (non wood colored) console. That’ll help with the plain feeling/feeling like there’s a lot of wood. Looks great :)

Shelby. When one of the AirPods do not work it is usually fixed by just reconnection/Bluetooth to the device. Remove your AirPods from Bluetooth, put both the AirPods in the case and then hold down the little button on the case.

As a person who uses CAD every day I highly recommend getting a more ergonomic mouse!! Flat mice like that make my hand cramp ☹️ Also tbh not that hard to travel with. I usually bring mine with me when I travel and it makes such a difference!

Shelby~~ Your assistant is very nice and she has a great personality ~I’m sure she will add quite a bit to your channel and your work ~I’m glad that you even have more time to be more creative and branch out a little more on your own ~~kudos to you for building that desk it looks really tough and things are coming together in the apartment. I love using a wireless mouse and a wireless keyboard with a laptop and sometimes I hook things up to the big TV so that I can just sit on the couch and put the keyboard on my lap you can put the mouse on your thigh and it’s very versatile.

Omg i cannot survive without having a mouse! I can't stand the track pad for video editing. LOL. I have an ergonomic mouse that you don't have to move around on a mouse pad. It just has a ball that you roll around with your thumb and the mouse itself is stationary.

I always wondered how you worked with only a laptop. Although im not editing my job consist of having a couple screens up at a time so i have two monitos aside from laptop. A keyboard and a mouse. Shelby, you did such a great job on the desk! And your place is really coming together. I agree, some artwork on the walls and maybe a couple of plants, including a simple, hanging one like a philodendron would bring it all together. I always use my Magic mouse that came with my iMac when I edit. I’ve never tried a trackpad for editing, so I don’t know the difference. You look adorable and very stylish in that outfit, no need for imposter syndrome, lol! And I also love charred, even burnt food. My best friend is the same way, when we take trips together it’s pretty funny because we tell people we want everything over done and charred! Glad you have an assistant now, she seems like a nice person. 😃❤️

I recommend the MX Master 3S mouse! It’s the best mouse and can do all the cool gestures the trackpad does and more. You can have custom gestures for specific apps too which is really cool

A mouse definitely helps with video editing, you can easily be a lot more precise and you have more control. Two screens is good too so you don't have to keep switching through folders and tabs. I got used to not having anything working from home though!

Editing on a mac laptop kills my wrists. I have to use a mouse and I learned how to mouse with my left and right hand so I can switch back and forth as needed. Long term you need an ergonomic mouse. Your wrists will thank you! And yes. I love burnt chicken edges!!!! The pants are cute.

Adding to the desk facing the window comments! If you turn the desk around and line it up with the part in the wall that jets out it looks like your chair would fit perfectly in that space. Then you would have a beautiful view, natural light facing you when you're editing/ filming at your desk and the sun light won't be bouncing bouncing off your computer screen. Then you can add whatever you want to the wall as your backdrop behind you! Love the aritzia pants with the large pockets!

When I move furniture I use a towel. I place the towel under one end and pull the other end of the towel to the place I want the furniture piece. I liked that you used the skateboard but just in case one is not available.

Since you’re upping you cooking game, the best thing I did was take a knife skills class. It make the process of prepping so much faster and it made me feel like a chef 🧑‍🍳. Plus, when you’re a master with your knife, you can make your own pickled onions cuz they are so easy, and makes you so proud of yourself and it’s impressive to others when you can say you did it yourself

Love my computer mouse and travel with it everywhere! Be careful of your chair - they do scratch up and lift up the wooden flooring (including if it's laminate) so you might need to add a rug or a plastic runner underneath to protect the floor. I'd be positioning the desk against the window to get good light and a good view! Also, if you want to up your omelette game, separate the egg and whisk the egg white and then fold in the yoke (and you can add in milk/cream/cheese) and it will completely change the texture to really fluffy.

I work both with Macs and PCs and I found that I prefer the trackpad of my mac, and to work with a mouse in Microsoft... I can't work with a mouse on the mac.
