Thank you for this video Im trying to sort through all of the amazing fishing gear my Pa passed on to me and I dont know enough about crankbaits to sort them properly. As a kid I remember losing quite a few of his good crankbaits because I tied on deep divers to fish the bank. He neve got mad at me though maybe a little frustrated at times but he used it as a learning lesson. I would give anything to spend just one more day with him talking about anything and everything. He was Larry Aurther Helton of the Army Airborne Infantry deployed to Vietnam. Nephew of Leona Williams and Merl Haggard. He was and still is my hero and my best friend I will ever have.

Great information Ott. I wasn't aware of some the reasoning for Bill angle versus line tie placement.

I've been fishing crankbaits for many years and my favorite baits were Poes. When Rapala and David Fritts came out with the DT series they have become my favorites. Casting, colors and dive to depths are just outstanding. Shad Raps on Buggs Island are a mainstay along with the old Bomber Speed Shads. Thanks for the video Ott. Great information. Take care.

I remember when Rebel Lures put the depth on the bills of their Rebel shallow, mid, and deep ( R’s ) !!!! I started putting the depth that the crank baits run under the chin area between the bill and first hook before placing in my tackle boxes, and the same on my jerk baits. Helps out when my fishing Buddy needs to use one and for myself also!!! Thanks for the info OTT !!!

Man I didn’t know they made a 20!! The deepest I can find is 16. DTs are definitely my favorite I’ve caught 5 fish over 7 this year on them. Thanks for expertise.

Best bet to get them reliably is probably online. They definitely don't keep them in stock at most of the local in person places.

Ott, this is some great information on crankbaits. How long did it take you to get the OG slim the way you wanted it? Is the Tiny the same only a smaller version? I haven't seen the Tiny at my cabelas yet.🎣🐟
@OttDeFoeFishing3 жыл бұрын
Only a couple tries really. It’s close in action but a good bit smaller. It will be first of the year I’m guessing before you see them in stores.

@@OttDeFoeFishing I went to cabelas in Rogers Arkansas again today and they didn't have Tiny. Now I know why. Thanks for for letting me know it won't be for a while yet.

Ott, what kind of rod do you throw your deep diving crank baits on? Med. Heavy? I imagine a 7ft 5, or similar?
