Not 1 other video has shown the speed of the drop that I've seen. For a beginner like me that's a great tip. Thanks for the great video!

Very good tips. I think most adjust spool tension and mag brake on outside and don’t mess with interior settings. Now all can explore how to adjust those for better casts or reduce backlash for difficulty of wind skipping etc

Ok I have 40-50 bait casters and I have never taken the time to open the end and do anything more than oil the bearings , I didn't know the weights were moveable duh I saw Eddie adjust those and now you so now I'm going to back those off so I can get some more distance good job Ott thanks for the tips keep them coming, how about oiling the reels I know where I put drops maybe I'm missing something......good luck this week in the angler of the year I picked you to win it on the Bass pro game so I could win a fishing trip with Skeets....

Thanks for good advice. My biggest problem has been readjusting when switching weights. I tend to over adjust then adjust back. One notch at a time now

Excellent video! I've heard variations of this previously but I'll try your way and see what happens. But...I'm always wanting more casting distance since I fish from shore so I tend to loosen it up more which can make more back lashes. I thought maybe you were going to show us how to remove that back lash mess you made on the first reel?!? Another video??

When setting the spool tension does it matter what your magnetic breaks are set to?

Good question! I'd like to hear Ott's answer too!

This is for beginning to cast a baitcaster, right,as you get more use to one ,can't you loosen the spool tension,to where the spool will loosen to where you can move it a little side to side with thumb& then get greater casting distance?

I have a question once they drop the next year schedule how does that limit what you do on those lakes if you can answer that Keep them straight on the holston might see you there lol thanks god bless

Thanks for making these good, instructive videos. I look forward to the one were you show how to get a backlash out of your reel. I know it’s a lot easier with mono or fluorocarbon, but if you could do one getting out a birds nest from braid, that would be great.

Great simple informative video. Bill Dance is still my favorite angler. But Ott, you’re getting closer to that number #1 spot. 😂
