This is one of the best movies I have ever seen. The soundtrack of my childhood. Thank you for your channel and your reviews. Your knowledge is amazing.

You are absolutely right about how awesome this movie is. I was 13 in 1980 and luckily we had HBO. You say they showed it about a billion times? Well then that is about how many times I’ve seen it. I loved this movie so much when I was a kid. It is criminal it isn’t still shown. Well done!

I just love this moves to bits. The dated animation, at this point, the dated music, at this point, everything - I still love this move to bits! The craft that went into making it is so apparent. As a child, it was about all the "sparkly" amination which is still a way to children's' hearts. Today people have a better understanding of what works in childrens media, but past media still have severall things to teach us in that respect.

I managed to see this movie as a child in Sweden and I loved it to bits. Best animation ever. It was very stylish according to the times, with the glittering effects, and neon colors. It was just very impressive both from a visual and an audial perspective - and I never had a translation really, I just got the general message I think. Only when rewatching the movie as an adult did I truly understand the stuff (like irony) I thought I got as a kid. Fascinating!

I used to get up early in the morning to see this cartoon. I do remember seeing the winter Olympic version of this on NBC only once when I was a kid. This cartoon is definitely underrated. Incidentally that one race is a speed walking race, the part with what I guess to be a woodchuck. It is an Olympic sport but not well known.

Super well done, friend. One of my very favorite films from growing up, have seen it 100+ times I'd bet. Bought the vinyl a few years back and converted it to mp3 files. Listen to it all the time. Classic.

Here we are in 2020, the movie got released on Blu-Ray! ...in region-protected Europe. However, because of that it’s now rentable/purchasable in HD on Amazon Prime Video in the US. Great quality, great film, great music.

@@FatherMalone So, inspired by your video I am watching Animalympics for the first time in decades, and I noticed something I didn't the million times I saw it as a kid: About 19 minutes in there is a shot of Dorrie Turnell on the podium for a figure skating medal. Among the other medalists is a snake. HOW DOES A SNAKE ICE SKATE???

Great movie, i dug it since i was 10 in 92 when i saw it on HBO and taped it and have it on DVD-R. I thought Kit Mambo was one hot lioness chick, lol. This movie does have a cult following and this movie with Cleo on Heathcliff and Thundercats were probably responsible for the furry fandom (if you heard of them) and is popular with them, i am a furry myself and a brony.

What a deep and trenchant observation. You are the first person ever to let me know that they had actually seen a movie. Congratulations. We can all stop watching movies now because you've seen it. And you're out there slaying those who would dare to tell you something that was not true. Or, heaven forbid, you actually think beyond the literal and realize you might have not seen the movie in this light.
