In 1978 i was down and out in San Diego sitting on the seawall, a young bodybuilder from Wisconsin 18 years old. I had a seabag with clothes, my weight belt, and a copy of Arnolds Education of a Bodybuilder.. a dude picks it up, signs it and as i look up, hands it back to me. It was Arnold himself... Amazing memory. I still pump to this day.

That's a hard core gym. Brings back memories of training in the morning at 6am. No music and the only guys there were the hard-core competitive bodybuilders all Mr Americas Teen Americas, Mr USAs and Mr Universe holders training for that season's competition. The atmosphere was electric and you could feel it as soon as you entered the gym. The motivation and comradary was like nothing you see today. And that is a shame.

@@greatbuilder100 I train alone today because the gym scene is dead. No atmosphere and alot of douchebags. When I started I was training for the Teenage Mr America( which I won my class ) in a little rusty hardcore gym called Crown Point Sport and Fitness near Chicago. My training partner owned the gym later he bought a Golds gym. But he was a Mr Universe Mr USA and there were 4 other national title winners training there. The training atmosphere was unbelievable. We would push are selves beyond normal limits. I remember Mike Quinn came to guest pose and he said it was one of the hardest leg training sessions he had ever had. You had to be there to truly appreciate it. Ed Coan would stop in from time to time. Unbelievable workouts.
