Hey guys, great to see an Irish episode, and talking about that night in Dublin, good news we have the last 3 bottles of the Dingle Palace Bar Single Cask!! Sorry Rex you didn't make it out with us that night, but the person that wrote A Glass Apart was Fionnan O'Connor which i did say he had wrote a book. Well Happy St Patricks. Slainte!!!!

You made me start to apprecciate Whisk(e)y, altough I don't have a lot of bottles yet and I'm anxious about getting some, but eh when you are kinda "poor" it's hard to get some bottles. Thank you Daniel, Rex, editor, and anyone in the Destillery for bringing me the joy and love to a drink with such a extensive History behind it. Also, I never tried Peated (?) Whisk(e)y, what do you think about the Lagavulin 16? What notes can you find? With Love, R.C.
@yungfleip4 жыл бұрын
If your "poor" Lagavulin isn't good for the wallet, but OMG is it great for the nose and tongue! And there are lots of pretty damn good whiskeys that are relatively cheap. And going to a good bar in your area and asking the bartenders what to try is a good place to start. Sure it's more expensive per ounce doing it that way, but you then have a much better idea what you're buying when you get the whole bottle.

That Dingle bottle is a single cask. One of 305 bottles. At the time of bottling the Palace Bar’s Cask had just turned 5 years old and it was matured exclusively in an Oloroso Sherry Cask. It was one of the 500 founding father's casks. There should be a cask number on the bottle as well. Daniel, that book on your desk, is it "A Glass Apart" by Fionnan O'Connor?

@@WhiskeyVault it's a good read. Have a signed copy of it. Picked up at whiskey live dublin in 2018. Also The Palace Bar bottle is a Founding Fathers bottling but they were not one of the original 500 Founding Father's of Dingle. A customer of the bar sold them the cask with the condition that he got the first 100 bottles. So the bar had 201 bottles. 100 kept behind the bar to sell by the dram I believe.

@@chozomonkey very much wrong. Midleton is in Cork (almost as far south as you can go) while Bushmills is on the north coast in Northern Ireland (almost as far north as you can go), and Bushmills is technically the oldest licensed distillery in the world (granted a licence to distill in 1608).
