Damn my man, you REALLY REALLY NEED/MUST SLEEP MORE! Dude you work so much and so many hours you’re seriously going to suffer a bad stroke! I’m not kidding, it’s guys yours and my age having them and it’s because we push our bodies way to hard. I just had a massive stroke, a 1 in 6,000,000 survivability. I watched your video on the complete rebuild on another 150 and you were tired but kept going. I’m only preaching g because I see me in you, you even said you pounded a Red Bull. Ok I’ll leave you alone but dude, get sleep every day. There’s guys and ladies our age drooling and gimping down the road from their strokes and it’s no fun. Excellent work you do! I totally dig your cool attitude.

I'm in a middle of a 2004 f150 project/ disaster myself right now and have been watching a ton of vids on youtube and that's how I came to your channel. Love your work ethic, these trucks will try and bring you down. Your problem might be with a crossed wire connection at the front of the motor to the vct or around there ( I heard another youtuber had that issue after installing cam phasers. I would also just go through the hole wiring harness and check all connections. These stupid gaskets in the plugs break down and then catch as you plug them in , not allowing for a good connection.
@andrewjmit5 жыл бұрын
Not sure if its the same on your truck but my 02 F-150 5.4 didn't get any misfire codes until i drove it around for a while. I knew it was misfiring but which one when it randomly does it. After a while a code showed up and told me the exact cylinder it was. The engine light did not come on for this. Also my truck ran fine with a bad O2 sensor but i had a engine light on for this. I had a ton a problems with my truck but it runs mint now. Last couple owners couldn't figure it out how to get it running well after one of them changed the motor, haha. You will get this.

Coil Packs. I know that they are new but the accident could have damaged one. I would go through the routine of running the engine while removing a single coil pack at a time and observe the engine’s behavior. If you remove a pack and the engine dies down then it’s good. If you remove a pack and no change then you found the problem.

Finally, the video I’ve been waiting for. Don’t forget to use 5w30 for longevity.
@tnitron97505 жыл бұрын
5w20 helps the cam phasers working properly. My 2004 Triton loves it. Use a good name brand oil. Syn blend and motorcraft filters and you will be just fine. Cam phasers mess up due to filter media clogging up the oil passages.
@francisprevel15 жыл бұрын
TNitro N that’s a good point I’ve also seen people do fine with 5w20. However I got my truck with a lot of miles on it and the cam phases haven’t been changed yet so 5w30 won’t hurt tbh.

Dangerous to weld cantilevered load into place on the spring eye bolts - they were not meant for that kind of load (you could lose your house when the purchaser has a wreck from your repair work), Instead, use a pry bar to push the spring into place, fully seating the spring eye bolts then thread on the nuts and torque to spec. Use a floor jack, get a friend to help, and use a small sturdy pry bar - it works, just takes a minute or two to line things up (works fine).

So, the "bulletproofed" 5.4L dropped in? Sorry, couldn't resist. Glad it's all good. I once had an instructor who tried to catch a falling engine. Permenant disability after that. It's amazing how much an O2 sensor contributes to proper engine operation. My father's Cadillac had a horrible misfire. It would run fine for the first 15 seconds, but then a terrible random misfire. I checked fuel pressure, air filter, spark plugs, ignition coils, ignition modules, crank sensors (it has 2), cam sensor, MAF sensor, MAP sensor, I even replaced half off all that, but still random misfire. Then I just sat and really looked at the scan tool data. About 15 seconds into start up, it would go from 0 fuel trims and Open Loop, to Close Loop and -35 Long and Short term fuel trim on Bank 1. It was an O2 sensor, works fine now, but that was a lot of work for nothing before I figured it out. Is that a Flux Core welder you're using? That's what I have. I don't know how to weld, not really. Never took a welding class, haven't even watch a welding youtube video, I just point and shoot, and pray it works. I'm limited to Flux Core only. When I replaced all my bushings on my front end, I could not remove the torsion bars on my truck, I had to cut the crossmember, and I couldn't find another at a junk yard, so I welded mine back together and welded on additional reinforcement. Still holds, I use it to for highway towing.
