Your video convinced me. I am unathletic and not a lightweight, live in an area with many long and steep hills, so unfortunately the great Fafrees were ruled out for me, as they are all quite weakly motorized. So I'm really thrilled with the power and torque of the i7 pro v2!

@@e-VRC Sorry to put a dampener on this, but it's cheap Chinese generic e-bikes like this that are prolific on Alibaba etc. Rebadged, they all come from the same factory. @@mhmh9302 Thats part of the problem. There are a handful of Western companies making ebikes, but a majority shilled on YT are cheap Chinese ones that all look the same and are shilled as the "best". I have the exact same design bike, a weld broke and they accused me of doing jumps (I'm 55!) they then wanted 300GBP to replace the frame and that took 2 months for me to receive. Now I'm expected to rebuiild it myself!!!!! I now have a Cruz 73 (the 750 Watt version), made by a UK company with solid steel and proper welds. Roll on 2 years, Engwe have updated the frame on both bikes, and thrown a 52v battery into that 2.0 frame, the same 23amp controller as the 1.0 and for some unknown reason it’s made the bike more nimble … it’s feels more like the X. For me, the difference that made me choose the PVY z20 Plus 1000 was the frame design. In my opinion (not expert) the PVY frame which is the same as a Mate X, has a better rear suspension design. The rear shock that PVY ships, is actually bad, but if you upgrade it I'm expecting that you will be with a more reliable bike than the Engwe's Engine Pro style frame. What is your opinion on this? Which frame design do you prefer?

I like the look of the i7 / engine pro one more but they feel the same really. I feel like your weight directly compresses the Pvy suspension whereas it indirectly presses the engine/i7 suspension via the hinge thing. But in practise they feel the same.

@@ledouu cadence sensor is the best IF it is smooth and doesn't jerk the bike when it activates and deactivates, which is the case with the vitilan. It helps you use the ebike like it's meant to be, with the least peddling effort to ride. Torque sensor does require effort from you, which is a mix between a regular bike and ebike. 52V is good, but not too much better than the 48V of the vitilan. The good thing is that these bikes are generic frames and you can fit higher voltage controllers, batteries and even 1000w+ motors in them if you so desire to make a better or faster bike for yourself. Battery distance seems good so far, '24.4 miles today (342 total so far) two bars on the display used. Mainly PAS-3/4 on cycle lanes using throttle, too humid to pedal.' '32.1 miles today (374 total so far) three bars on the display used. Mainly PAS-4 on cycle lanes/across fields/dry mud paths.' I wanted an E-Bike that would get me up very steep hills and have good battery distance,If I wasn't happy with my i7 PRO 2 at doing so (so far) I would post and say so. Hey mate! Thank you so much for all your amazing reviews! I've literally been glued to your channel for the past week or two, trying to decide on my first purchase. I'm looking for a folding bike with a good range (ideally a solid 100km on low level pas), also with some good torque and power (unlockable etc), around the 1 grand price mark (give or take) and preferably pretty easy to move about when folded (and to sling in the back of the car). I've been looking at this bike, the pivy z20 max, the pivy z20 plus 1000, the ado airs, engwes! I'm really finding it hard to make a decision. I'm in my 40's, 6ft but a svelt 64kg, which presumably might help with range? If you can offer any advice, it would be much appreciated! What would you go for?

This looks to be a very nice Fat Tyre E-Bike at a very attractive price. I have had a bike very similar to this for around 4 years now, it's a good bike with one or two negatives. I like to ride along canal tow paths, and on tow paths which have ruts made in them made by many bikes traveling along them. The ruts tend to act like tram lines, and the small wheels get stuck in the ruts and I have been thrown off the bike on more than one occasion. I have never had this happen with my bike with 26 inch fat tyres. I have also had the battery lock get jammed up with grit from mud being thrown up from the front wheel, and then had to remove the lock from the battery and clean it out.

Exchanging the Bafang motor for an unknown "more efficient" brand is cost-cutting on their behalf and not an upgrade for the owner unless the change of motor brings a torque sensor instead of a cadence sensor. Peak power, range and torque specs quoted for 3.0 are the same as 2.0 so where's the efficiency 🤷

Good review, thanks! one thing to note though, no matter how good it is, its still not UK road legal as doesnt have "250W" stamped on the motor, so for me the better bikes are the Engwe L20 or the PVY Z20 Plus 1000 for UK road use, both stamped 250W even though has larger motors and can be restricted to 15.5mph and switch off throttle.

tbf the motor isn't visible at all on this due to the mag wheels encasing it. I'm not sure which setting adjusts the speed- I'm going to look into that. They told me throttle can't be switched off but of course it's easily disconnected.

@@bigup7777 Oh I definitely care. I know very few people that will be ok with losing a £1100 bike or getting points. I get really paranoid on moped style ebikes and escooters. But anything that looks like a bike I'm ok with as long as I'm being sensible. Unicycles and esk8s though I never worry. I just don't feel they're targeted if you know what I mean. For me too heavy, and unlocking key location is a bit weird /underneath frame - In wet weather - this will be a problem after while. Battery removal is difficult as well. Propably must be removed to charge... Easy way to drop battery when wrestling with foldable 40kg unstable bike... Not well designed. So, I'm awaiting for review new engine pro.

Every single negative you've mentioned is exactly the same for this type of bike. The engine pro 2.0 will be exactly the same. However you can charge the battery in the bike I'm sure I said I probably wouldn't remove it as it's cumbersome. My very first ebike was this design too, never had a problem with the key being underneath apart from it can be hard to see it to get the key in and the external wiring can get in the way. But yeah I think I said watch out for the battery as it can slide out. It's definitely heavy - not good if you need to take it up stairs.

@@e-VRC- Does this have a certificate of conformity? Can the throttle be disabled or removed without screwing up the controller? If the answer is 'yes' to both these queries, then this could be a road legal e-bike in Ireland, at least. It would be classed as a lower end e-moped requiring registration, motor tax and for a motorcycle helmet to be worn. I suspect the i7 can be limited to 25kph so that's covered. You could ride it in cycle lanes.
