Good races! Although that rotary powered racer was scary, and not in a good way! Still, he did save it, so kudos for that. You had some really challenging races, keeping you on your toes. It was good to see you edge out the Nova, because it is such a formidable racer.
@TeslaPlaidChannel8 ай бұрын
Indeed, we now avoid cars as “unpredictable” as that rotary, and especially pickup trucks 🛻 And that Nova race might just be my favorite race ever, because it wasn’t only the car that was 0.02 faster, but the reaction was 0.02 better than a great semi-pro racer like Don 👍

That tesla and nova looked close. Ive seen the other videos of you racing that nova and it’s awesome. One race you win and another the nova wins, that’s neat. I even watched that one vid of that nova doing that huge wheelie.

The wagon was nuts. Actually looks like a perfect setup. Long wheelbase to keep the nose down. The COPO is my favorite though. Sounds amazing (biased Camaro owner).
@TeslaPlaidChannel8 ай бұрын
👍Amazing how many 8-second cars we are seeing! And although consistently blazing quick, the COPO can’t be driven on the street (no VIN or mirrors, etc), whereas Nick drives that wagon over an hour to the track! Dang! 😳

Are you still running the Pirelli P Zero? Have you considered r888r?
@TeslaPlaidChannel8 ай бұрын
We go back and forth between the original set of P Zeros (as delivered with this car 31 months ago) and our Nittos. Toyo does not make a R888R in the required 28” diameter for a 19” wheel. The 20” version is not optimal, heavy at 33 pounds, and otherwise similar to our Nittos. On this night of racing we were on the Nittos and ran four 9.25s in a row. But we’ve already got the original Pirellis back on and won money this week with them…

What tires and PSI do you run in your plaid?

The original tires that were delivered on the car 31 months ago. Occasionally we run our Nittos, like in this video, but the original P Zeros are on the car now and won the first place💰this week. Video coming next weekend

I always watch other videos that happen to be at Bradenton (HUGE events) but I never see this channel or car. 🤔 There are no crowds etc. Why? I don't get it. If you're so proud of your plaid, SHOW IT OFF don't hide from almost every other race that goes down.
@TeslaPlaidChannel8 ай бұрын
The bigger events don’t offer a class that fits the Plaid. We’ve checked. And brackets don’t allow us to grudge race with interesting cars, only consistent cars and sandbagging drivers. But we did race a shootout this week and won the first place money💰 . That video comes next week👍
@jamesengland74618 ай бұрын
Hide? On KZbin, uploading new videos just about every week? Racing from daylight into the dark? Passing wins and losses and red lights?
@awo1fman8 ай бұрын
The biggest problem with Teslas is that there's no way to "turn it up". There's no way to increase the power, and no way to even upgrade the rubber. You can get different, stickier and/or lighter rubber, but you can't make a significant increase in contact patch because of interference with suspension and body. About all you can do is strip out as much weight as possible. So while Teslas are very consistent👍, they're also very consistent👎...
