I knew a guy in highschool that built his first vehicle out of what I believe was 3 different trucks. It was a long frame with a single cab short bed thrown on top that was seperated in the middle because the bed wasn't long enough to go all the way so there was just this gap in-between the bed and the cab about 2-3 feet wide 😂. This was years ago but he showed up at school with it one day and told me "it's legal as soon as I wire in some brake lights and turn signals" which he was actively wiring after already showing up to school in the morning. One day, his brakes failed because I'm sure those were junkyard parts too. So he smashed it into this SUV but the owner forgave him. That truck looked straight out of Jeepers creepers bro it was THAT kind of truck. Demonic possession type truck. Nearly killed a couple people and i witnessed one of them because it was the time his brakes failed and he hit the suv. There was a guy standing in-between that ran out from in-between at the last second. Really demonic possessed jeepers creepers truck. It was so cool It was like an old Ford pickup with the front split windows. Or a Chevy, I can't remember. It was a mixture of brands. It was repainted a million times so it looked like it crawled out of a pit from hell no joke. Like it's skin was boiled 😂 Jeepers creepers mobile straight up. He measured the fuel level with a stick you stuck into the tank with markings on it of "about" where empty, half and full tank were. It was a MACHINE. There was no bed in the bed. It was horrifically unreliable as you can tell by the brake failure

It needs rubber wheels and a little give in the mounts, like a rubber mount or a spring. The idea is sound!

There needs to be a part 2 to this. Have Ty make his own casters, gusset and brace the back side of the caster mounts so they can't fold back as easy, hit the wall a little easier and see what happens. Absolutly loved it.
@davidgriffin792 жыл бұрын
For this to work, the castors would need shock mounts; it was the shock load that destroyed them (they were built for static loading) the energy of the impact needs to be gracefully damped out.
@willpestka27452 жыл бұрын
Should have the wheels on hinges with stiff springs pushing on the trailing side

@DFWJon2 жыл бұрын
Or they could use some 3” steel pipe, or a 5” or 6” pipe cut in half, welded on the side of the car at 4 different spots from front to back and that way you would have a greater area of load distribution and no wheels and/or mounts to rip off or tear up. Still gonna need to get “on the wall” a bit sooner also.
@ChefofWar332 жыл бұрын
No. Dont use castors. You need to think of the entire thing as just a car that is driving on a wall. That means you need a full suspension and rubber tires mounted on the side of a car.

i had that feeling myself. as soon as he said they were designed for dumpsters, i knew that was going to happen. my guess is the wheels were using some sort of poly. wheels like the kind you find on skaboards. poly. wheels are really designed for grip. in the case of dumpsters, i imagine they are designed that way so the dumpster doesn't accidently run into cars or whatever. regardless though it was funny. what might work is thick airless solid rubber tires but im no expert.
@jasonstalder52082 жыл бұрын
@@jd_railfan i use similar wheels for project cars on frames. they're poly coated but the main core is of a cast material and shattered on impact by the looks?
@markram452 жыл бұрын
Ross needs to be a regular on the channel. Fits right in.
@MigotRen2 жыл бұрын
If you ever want to test this again, i think using rubber wheels will help a lot cause they can absorb the impact better than solid metal wheels. Also already being against the wall before the turn starts basically elimates the intial impact.
