We are Brian & Jessica, a married couple who started on a life-changing whole food, plant-based weight loss journey back in June 2018. In June 2022, our lives were flipped upside-down when Jessica was diagnosed with Stage 3 (possibly 4) ovarian cancer. We continue to share our adventures (highs, lows, struggles & everything in between) in following a plant-based diet while keeping you up-to-date on Jessica's cancer treatment.

❤❤❤ Congratulations!! You must be absolutely over the moon! On a more serious note, I was a surrogate for my sister many years ago. In fact, at that time, surrogacy couldn't be legally done in Canada so I traveled to NY state to carry out the procedure. If Tess is anything like me, she isn't looking for a thank-you. For me, this was a way I could express my love for my sister by helping her with something she and her husband could not do any other way. I'm certain that the horrors of your journey this past year weighed deeply on your cousin's Tess' heart. She wasn't able to make any of the terrors of your cancer treatment and journey go away but, she knew she could do this to help make your dreams of a sweet baby a reality. Tess obviously loves both of you dearly! I know this was the very reason I approached my sister about doing the same thing for her and her husband. It's wonderful to know you have such a wonderful cousin to share your lives with. We are all praying for sweet Elsie Clara and your upcoming scan! 🙏🙏 I'm so excited for you all! Interesting fact- my due date for my sister's son was October 20th too!! But he knew how excited everyone was to meet him so he arrived on October 6th! We'll be excited to find out what Elsie Clara has planned for you!! 🎉🎉

I was also really close to offering the same thing to my sister when she was having a really hard time conceiving. It took her and her husband 10 years to get pregnant!! They had a beautiful baby girl!! I would have carried a baby for her if she hadn't been able to have one!! You did such an amazing thing for your sister💖💖💖

I'm so touched that you are naming your little girl after your grandma! I read something recently that we die twice. Once when they bury us and the 2nd time is the last time someone mentions your name. I was recently told that my next great granddaughter is going to be named after me and I can't tell you how awesome it is that my name will be spoken long after I'm gone!❤

That's not how that works. Elsie has 2 parents and a cousin who incubated her. Tess isn't her mom. Jessica is her mom.

My sister was also willing to serve as a surrogate when i was having all my fertility issues (as long as she didnt have to sleep with my husband!) so its so wonderful you have someone you are close to to do this for you. Fortunately for me all i needed to do was change husbands (nicknamed studley by the family) ! Who soon provided me with 3 glorious babies! This is the next best thing to being there! Good luck!

My daughter was diagnosed with stage three uterine cancer last November and had surgery. A total hysterectomy. She’s early 50s.She refused radiation and chemotherapy. We had several strong prayer groups going and at her three month check up there was no sign of cancer. I know this doesn’t happen for everybody but it did happen for her. She says she feels better than she has in years. She was saying that right after surgery.
