Congratulations! My eldest daughter has two children (thus far) who were born at home. She was blessed to have an _excellent_ RN midwife who made the process go smoothly. Her helpful hubby and inflatable birthing tub were beneficial, too! I chose hospital births but with the aid of a doula. With respect to you sharing a hospital room, I've neither experienced nor seen that here in the US!

Congratulations!! You two are the first "travel couple" we watched here in Alaska, one winter's eve in 2017. I knew a wonderful girl named Aurelia back in the 80s ~ her dad nicknamed her Penny and that was the nickname she went by. Happy birthday to your beautiful little girl.

Thank you Jim and Harriet! We're doing surprisingly well. Baby wakes up for three nighttime feedings, but we've adapted to her schedule and we're somehow still functioning. She brings us a lot of joy. I hope you two are doing well! 💛

Congratulations! Wishing the three of you lots of joy ahead! And yes the epidural is a game changer. After waiting 12 hours to get a birthing room in lots of pain, it allowed me the opportunity to enjoy my daughter's birth. Now 17 years later, I can still vividly remember that day, it was a calm and peaceful birth and she remains my most precious gift. Glad you had a positive experience and checked off the most important item on anyones list - a healthy and happy baby. Welcome to the world Aurelia!

I'm glad you also had a positive birth experience with the epidural. I was so against it initially, but if there are more babies in the future, I would take it again. I was able to enjoy the day and make it through a rather long labour. We're so happy to have our little baby girl here! 😊

Congratulations! What a wonderful little family! When I had my kids in the late 70's early 80's I was told not to take any "drugs" and luckily I didn't have a lot of problems but the pain was so bad and there was some tearing. When my daughter gave birth I told her to get an epidural! They are safer than you know and you can have the baby in more comfort (of course not totally) No reason to suffer. It's better to enjoy the birth! So proud of you both!

Audrey you are a champ. And you guys never lost the humor which is soooo important. I think back to our first birth experience and it was similar to yours minus the epi and forceps. Epidurals didn’t exist at the time and I was NOT having a spinal 😂. But the women wailing in the background and the slow progress lol. You don’t forget! I was determined to not make a peep and I didn’t. My husband was fabulous and was a huge help. Here’s the thing. I think I was rewarded for being such a trooper because our baby girl was such a chill baby. And our second delivery of our little son shine three years later was fast, with very little pain. Our reward! Treasure these memories and all the ones to come. It goes by so quickly. We are looking forward to seeing what life holds for you in this new chapter!

I appreciate that you keep things “normal” by just documenting your adventures whatever they may be. Some KZbinrs (even though I like them too) seem like they are always trying to do something outrageous, something crazy or different so they can make a fun video. And while that is ok and I do appreciate the effort, it’s not normal life and I always wonder how much longer they are able to keep it up.
