Our Complete Horse Stall Renovation! The Final Result Will Blow Your Mind

Ever since I was a little girl I was obsessed with horses and always dreamed of owning my own barn. That dream became a reality in 2018. My husband Kyle and I looked at several properties, but when we came across a small farm in SE Michigan we instantly knew it was the one for us. We of course named our farm “Free Spirit Equestrian”. I’ll be honest, back then my eyes were not as “trained” as they are now and from my point of view the barn looked like Disneyland! While the farm was indeed magical it definitely needed a lot of upgrades and WORK, more than I realized! Over the past 6 years we have done more work to the property then I even care to admit. I had no idea how much work was actually needed in the beginning, but we have paced ourselves overtime with the labor of love. We have been blessed to be able to make some major changes and upgrades to Free Spirit Equestrian. Through hard work, sweat, creativity, and of course tears a lot been accomplished! Last Fall we were able to do a much needed exterior and structural renovation to the barn. That project was HUGE and turned out to be beautiful! Fast forward to this spring, we have now torn down, installed, and upgraded all of our horse stalls. This stall transformation honestly blew us away. This makes such a huge difference in our barn from a personal, functional, and even a professional standpoint. My dreams have been unfolding right in front of my eyes and this is yet another amazing milestone in our journey and life. Redoing a barn is a major undertaking. Any debris can be a major risk hazard for hoofed animals, nails, screws, welding rods, or heavy wire, which can all be perforation hazards. He did an amazing job keeping it clean and minimized the hazards. He should be proud. He did an amazing job. It looks great.

Finding out that Kyle is an engineer made it all make sense. Engineers are hard-working, focused, deep thinkers, and generally quiet folks. I don't even have words for that transformation! It's gorgeous. The piece that ties it all together (in my humble opinion) is that beautiful chandelier. It just finishes it. It looks like a seriously professional equestrian barn. The "Free Spirit Equestrian" sign REALLY matches and pops now I bet. Just beautiful. Absolutely love that Kyle is getting a bit more comfortable on camera and is showing some of his own skills. It was really interesting listening to him and I learned how to use a water level (I had no idea!)

We don't have animals or anything, and I do most of the repairs around the house, but hub still supports me. I sing in a community chorale, and he helps with carrying things, setting up lights and decor for intermission, helping the film crew, and just general heavy lifting when needed. He fully supports me in the ways he's good at. He always claps long and loud, and I love him! ❤ Having a supportive partner is so helpful for a happy life!
