@bump love. I need help/advise from the bump lovers. Pliz keep me anonymous. Am a single mother of 2 beautiful daughters. A 2yr old and a 2 months old. Their dad walked out on us when I was 6 months pregnant, but I believe it was for d better. Unfortunately, my older daughter is getting more affected in the whole storm and am failing to find a proper way of dealing with it. She asks for her Dad so often. I let them talk on a video call, and sometimes ask him to meet d kid and speak to her. As we were still figuring out our lives with d Dad, I gave birth to d 2nd baby who seemed to have taken my attention. In response to all this, my 2-year-old became rebellious. She is traunt, and wouldn't do a thing even wen I ask in d politest tone. She isn't eating. What hurts me most is that I've started hurting her physically (beating and slapping), which I hate most, and I believe are not the right measures of instilling discipline. At 2yrs I even enrolled her in Kindergarten just for her to have a change in environment and grow healthily. With her at home, am always complaining, yelling, shouting or slapping and if this continues, it might affect her mental and emotional growth. I don't know why I keep doing this even. I know that she feels unloved and is always trying to get attention, but most times, I am overwhelmed, tired, stressed, and maybe she falls victim. I don't want to ruine our relationship but mostly, I don't want to endanger her mental and emotional health. I think I am a bad mother!!!! And it's terrible. I swear I love my children, and this whole beating is making me insane. Seeing my daughter crying because of the pain I've inflicted is unbearable, but again, it keeps happening. I don't have any other person to trust in raising her, though. I wanna raise her with the values I believe are right. Am even finding it hard to pray. Please advise.

For the women who are employed, the biggest challenge is under valuing ourselves especially in salary negotiations. A man will be paid 3 times more because they stand firm when asking for their worth. Women usually negotiate forgiving the employer. There is always need to rationalize the pay like I am young, not married, no responsibility. We can do better.

The challenge that we are experiencing as women is that we are misunderstood in most cases, for instance we come home from work and we are already tired again we still have to take care of the family, what I have realized is that when a woman says she is tired, we are being judged at all times and our feelings are not taken into consideration even by our own partners

Pumla, you have said something so powerful. If men are absent in these rooms where these conversations are taking place, all efforts are in vain. Because the conversations will fall on dry ground if power doesn't buy into them, and let's be honest, the ratio of men in power to women is still wanting. Both genders need to equally embrace a mindset shift.

What irks me as a deligent, sharp and hardworking woman is that my success is often only attributed to my husband! And it doesn't help that he is white! Everything I have, the money I make or my lifestyle is apparently bc he handed it to me. Oh heavens! Its annoying. Thankfully my husband is my biggest cheerleader and he truly sees me as an equal. Society will hopefully catch up one day and respect a woman's hussle.

Ladies happy women's month! Love to see you all as always. Interesting topic, here. Fortunately for me, I am exactly in the same shoes as Pumla. I am a social entrepreneur and the agenda is mindset change. Personally, I target the whole audience men and women (women especially because the best thing that ever happened to me was to be equipped). I hear people who need more than verbal motivation with an action, true, we can speak to them as we also source or generate initiatives that fuel them perhaps economically; and provide them with information during these talks with which organizations or venture capitalists that can support their various activities. Many women fear the places, rooms, etc. even the free workshops. We can do better and we shall do better. Thank you
