Amy, there is a difference in essential oils. Make sure the peppermint oil you are using in your drinks is food-grade! Very important. Because some is made just to burn in a diffuser and that is not consumable!

🤩OH YEAH...Use parchment paper when baking and by using 3 sheets of paper per cookie sheet: put each tray in the oven, get 1 sheet of parchment paper ready for the next batch; when first tray is done slide paper with cookies onto cooling rack, slide next batch of cookies onto pan and back into the oven...before the next batch is ready to come out, remove cookies to a plate and get the next batch of cookies ready for the oven and repeat using the same parchment paper(works 4-5x for me)=EASY CLEANUP🤗

P.S. I have a half gallon of peeled pickled rind now, opened that watermelon and used a 1 cup vinegar to 1 1/2 cup sugar tablespoon of cinnamon and a little salt. stirred it up hot and then cooled it and soaked the 3 by 1/2 inch pieces in the bowl for a bit and jarred them. they are tangy and sweet! They live in the fridge, right next to the pickled eggs!

Hi Miss Amy! I grew up around the Amish and old Mennonite and old Methodist! Learned a lot from them. My mom learned canning from them and I learned from mom. Been canning and cooking for most of my lifetime. Did it through my kids growing up too! Never bought spaghetti sauce when they were growing up always canned it every summer for the year. At least 100 quarts per year. For spaghetti and lasagna! And goulash!

Good morning Ms. Amy!! I make a casserole I call "Mexican Casserole". It uses flour shells and you layer beans rice and taco meat with cheese and it is like a mexican lasagna. I however, just mix the beans, rice and taco meat together and layer it between the flour shells and whatever cheese blend I have. Kids and adults alike love it. You could probably use dairy free cheese and make it more friendly for dairy issues. Have a great weekend! God bless.

I'm glad that you don't think that everyone who isn't good at something just didn't practice enough. Some people just can sew, some just can't cook...we're all different. We all learn differently in all aspects of life. I'm nowhere a Mennonite, but I learned I'm pretty okay at cooking. I'm pretty okay at yard work. I'm pretty okay at fixing random holes in walls and things that don't seem to meet up to one title. So even though I'm pretty sure you and I don't necessarily see everything the exact same way, I can appreciate that you and I can agree that not everything a "typical wife" can do is what all wives these days can do. You're a wonderful mama, no matter what you can or cannot do ❤️

A plait/braid I make that can also be eaten cold is using good sausage meat and whole hard boiled eggs. I make a layer of sausage, then line the eggs up along it, before covering it with another layer of sausage. Kids seem to love having the egg and sausage together and if served in slices, it's good finger food for a gathering. In the UK they make something similar called Gala Pie - which is pork meat with the egg in the middle of hot water crust pastry.

You can bake puff pastry on the parchment paper it’s rolled up in. Also if you put beaten egg on top before it goes in the oven it will give it a good colour and gloss. If the filling is cold it is less likely to burst out when cooking. Yours looked good, I’m off to buy pastry….lol

Beautiful new pan set! I don’t know if it’s like my non stick cats iron pans but ours tell us to not wash them right after use. Let them go cold so you don’t damage the coating on them. Make sure you check that, I’ve messed up pans before not realising this. .. thank you for a good cooking day! I have meats defrosting in my fridge just now and will be having a Cooking day tomorrow. I may look up a keto recipe for some cookies or cake so that hubby and I can have a treat during the week. It’s only the two of us so if I made a massive pan of cookies, cake or treats they would fly out the window and then I’d be wondering why I’m half a stone heavier 😂😂😂 ..I hope you have a wonderful relaxing weekend Amy and that the weather is good enough for you to get some sun and some pool time! 🤗
