I love how the pre show specifically says no recording but everyone just chooses to ignore it. That’s the Disney magic right there
@gissneric2 жыл бұрын
Well, Disney has never been strict when it comes to filming. It's free advertisement. Maybe cause it's a rollercoaster that's why they included that spiel.
@JD-uz1pp2 жыл бұрын
There's actually a reason why they say no recording at that specific section. Not meant to be an enforced rule, but if people had cameras with fancy lighting features, that would ruin the illusion of the teleportation since the walls quickly move up during the flash of pitch-black.

This ride is absolutely one of the best roller coasters I've ever done! I first rode it during passholder previews because I go to Disney a lot (and when I say a lot, I mean a LOT) and of the three rides I got to do previews for, this one was my absolute favorite. Going in, all I knew about it is that it spun and it had a backwards launch, but the ride as a whole absolutely knocked my socks off, especially the theming. Buying an annual pass was one of the best things I've ever done because I live in south Florida and this whole resort (and all the other Orlando parks for that matter) are about 2 1/2 hours from my house. I'm going back in December and I can't wait to ride it again!

@BlueSky-i2u8i2 жыл бұрын
I’d say it depends on the row you’re in. Front it doesn’t feel super intense but back row it feels like one of the more intense disney coasters. Probably not full on rock n roller coaster intense, but somewhere from space mountain to Everest? I think I’ll go with Everest. It’s a very long ride but it is also butter smooth. For people who have a hard time handling coasters it might be a challenge, I know at least one person that passed out on it, a couple more that said one ride is for me! But most people that love coasters it won’t find it all that intense unless maybe back row. It’s a super fun ride!

I haven’t ridden this, so this is just me being cynical, but I can’t believe this ride cost more than Expedition Everest and Hagrid’s combined. Im sure it is a solid ride, but it seems to be mostly just a dark room with technology Gringotts perfected 8 years ago.
@mackenziefritz81692 жыл бұрын
Agreed, I feel like maybe it’s 100 million at the most. No way it’s more expensive than Hagrids with that insane ride system plus all the theming and animatronics
@cameronbyrd76712 жыл бұрын
There are many factors that could explain the high cost. Gutting of Universe of Energy, reusing and re-routing for the new queue, building that huge show building, installation of track, designing and building the trains (the most costly part of roller coasters), paying the actors/actresses, getting music licenses, and yes, the projection dome-like screens. Sure, this may not be as thematic as Hagrids with animatronics or even as technological because there's no drop or switch track, but with the cars spinning (controlled) and having to sync with the movie on the screen (which James Gunn himself helped produced), I can see why the attraction was a hefty price tag.
@ThemeParkAvenue2 жыл бұрын
@@cameronbyrd7671 I can definitely understand a high price tag, but I am just surprised by how astronomical it was.
@MattMcIrvin2 жыл бұрын
The difference from the Gringotts tech is that the cars can rotate under ride control throughout the entire ride because the mechanism is internally battery-powered rather than bus-bar-powered. I suspect that made it more expensive. Also, since basically the whole thing is taken at speed, the show building is *vast*; the box in back alone looks to be the size of two copies of the Gringotts structure stacked on top of one another, and that's not even including the old Universe of Energy building and the launch tunnel.
@AMagicProduction2 жыл бұрын
@@cameronbyrd7671 eh, they didn’t demolish Universe of Energy… they just gutted it, and yes while the show building is huge, that’s not where the majority of the cost went. The actual coaster is rumored to have only cost $60-80 million. Disney and WDI has outrageous, bloated costs.

Awesome ride! However, what I think Disney should do for these more recent IP drops in EPCOT is instead of dedicating individual pavilions or areas to IP, they should integrate them into each existing pavilion. Each IP drop would act as an example of Disney products or pop culture and its interpretation of that area of science and technology for that pavilion and the role it has played in advancing culture’s awareness of that field. For example. EPCOT currently has a space pavilion (mission space) which acts as a truly EPCOT example of displaying and allowing others to experience the technologies and emerging ideas of space travel. In the case of Guardians of the Galaxy, this could act as an IP example for the space pavilion, displaying pop culture’s interpretation of space technology in the movie and educating the viewer about how the ideas brought about in IP could help to inspire future technologies and generations. A short preshow film could describe this and tie the IP in and then the ride could just be a Guardians of the Galaxy ride with no need for further tie-ins to EPCOT. This model would allow Disney to happily integrate IP for every Future World Pavilion while also retaining EPCOT’s ideas of technology, edutainment, the future, and inspiration for all. World of Motion could become home to test track and IP such as Star Wars and all the examples of possible new transportation technologies that could emerge in future decades from those movies. As mentioned previously, the Space Pavilion could be home to mission space and the guardians of the galaxy. They could reconstruct the queue building behind the current space pavilion and redivert the launch tunnel to the roller coaster. The Universe of Energy could be reinstated and then become home to an IP example such as Fantasia where you discuss examples of energy seen in scenes such as bald mountain. The Living Seas could reinstate the educational dark ride and then tie in IP such as 20,000 leagues or Nemo or the little mermaid and discuss the diversity and fragility of the world’s oceans. The land could be home to living with the land, soarin’, and IP like Pocahontas or Moana. The Imagination pavilion could be home to journey into imagination and IP like alice and wonderland where you could discuss the impact of Disney animation and the whimsical creativity and imagination found in the movie on the liberal arts. Even the health pavilion could be re-instated and integrate IP like inside out where you discuss the impact of mental health and balancing emotions. Pleace feel free to let me know what you think about this idea. I really think it would benefit the Disney visitor and Disney in regards to EPCOT and IP.

As far as negatives agree it was hard to follow the story towards the second half of ride and not 100% confident in the song choices - doubtful Peter Quill would have Conga?
