When Colleen was crying and frustrated about not being able to work as much as she wants, he immediately just went into reaassurance mode and hyped her up/complimented her a lot and made her laugh so she would feel better. Okay! So as a trans man, who has watched and loved your videos and family for 10 years I want to say this to you. Yes of course Gender is a spectrum and can change over time as someone grows into their self BUT you are allowed to have stereotypical thoughts of genders. I am someone who had to medically change to be my correct gender BUT I will still find out the gender of my baby, I still imagine certain things when I think "Boy" and certain things when I think "Girl" it does not make you a bad person! You love for Flynn and your unborn babies is so visible and that is all that matters. Don't feel scared to have those thoughts and day dreams. You are two amazing people and two amazing parents, please don't be hard on yourselves.

Jordan, thank you so much for posting this comment. I was considering writing a comment about how, as a Trans guy, I’ve always imagined myself as becoming a parent to a baby boy. I’ve always wanted a baby girl, too, but it’s just my life experience that I was a “girl”, born after an older boy, and I related to the boys and guy characters and my first baby cousin was a boy and it’s just the experience I’ve grown up seeing. I can’t think of the right words right now but I just wanted to thank you again, and to thank Colleen and Christopher for being open with their conversation of the concept of mourning the thought of the life you imagined in the other way.

colleen, I have a suggestion for a topic, it MIGHT be too personal, and it's totally ok if you don't want to talk about it. But you always talk about your religious upbringing, and church and all that. And the Halloween stuff and all that. But when I see Gwen on videos and Rachel's podcast, she doesn't seem like a fanatic, she seems actually very kind and respectful and progressive. Was there some like light that shone on your parents for them to grow beyond the Church's limitations? Was it gradual, just them keeping up with the times? were you the one contesting things first, or trent/chris/rachel? Again, I know this might be personal, but whenever you bring up religion and your college and stuff, I always get so curious to know how your family went from point A to point B

I'm sure this sounds weird, but if you're worried about being out of the house with the twins and Flynn, you might want to teach Flynn to hold onto something that you're wearing, like a keychain or something that you can attach to a belt loop on your pants, or the strap on a bag you're carrying. This way you can know that he's staying close to you, but you'll also have your hands free to carry the twins.

Good idea. Also, I don’t think anyone who’s walking any kind of far distance usually holds 2 little babies in their arms. Most likely stroller that holds 2 or car seats! I mean to me, I’d be anxious I’ll trip and drop them. Around the house she might carry both, who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️

I appreciate that you rephrased being "broken" if you are infertile. For those struggling with infertility, the idea of brokenness is such a heartbreaking psychological component of the condition and can really damage a person's sense of self during the process of trying to conceive. I am the mother of a donor conceived child and do not see myself as broken. I see myself as someone who benefitted from incredible science (as you mentioned) and the tremendous generosity of our egg donor. I also see myself as a devoted and whole woman and mother.❤

Cops sometimes do that to allow passage from the left side to the ride side; my dad and I broke down on the 405 carpool lane then we got to walk across the empty freeway. It was rad.

As someone who works in customer service, yes as they said we *have* to give the whole spiel, BUT we're also basically getting graded on how many people we sign up/help out :( I don't think anyone likes being aggressive, but we're literally pressured to insist

Around the 30 minute mark you started talking about mourning the loss of an idea of a child being a certain gender. I can completely relate to that because when I found I don’t I was having a girl I had lost that idea of me having a son. She’s six months old now & I love every bit of her no matter her gender.

Omg THANK YOU. I found out a couple months ago that I'm having a boy and I feel so sad about it, but more than that I feel so guilty for feeling this way. I never thought I'd ever have a boy, I grew up with 5 sisters and already have a girl. I imagined my children being sisters and that has been a hard thought to let go of. Thank you for helping me through that. I'm crying feeling a bit better knowing I'm not completely a terrible person 😭

This was my favorite episode. I feel like it was the first time we got to see their relationship. It was so nice 😭 also hearing them talk about their struggles made them feel so much more relatable because all parents feel that way! I love them even more now after this episode. We need more “intimate” episodes like this one. It reminded me of the conversations I have with my husband! Where you’re just honest and talking about how you feel.

Best Relax podcast episode I’ve seen thus far. Loved the deep convo, loved the getting real, loved the unveiling of needing to be perfect and poised for internet audiences. Erik doesn’t have experience with people asking him how he’s doing in this scenario, bc people usually expect men to be fine all the time. Not the case. I wish people would ask men how they’re doing more.

Also, shout-out Colleen for already being such a great mom to her twins. When she mentioned how important it is for her to be an example for her daughter, I got emotional. These twins and Flynn are so lucky to have you both! 🤍

Who needs to relax? The people that clearly hate Colleen continuing to watch her content and comment degrading things about her! Anyone with an ounce of discernment can tell Colleen is a good person. If something she says rubs you the wrong way, using words like "disgusting" and "you should be ashamed" and "cruel" says a lot more about you than it does about her.

I can't speak for anyone else but I will criticize her LOUDLY when she's using her platform in a toxic way. This is not an echo chamber. She also exploits her child and speaking out against it is all anyone can do. She should be accountable. Blindly praise and defend her all you want.

It is super interesting taking care of twins and keeping them safe in public places, my husband and I have perfected the technique of one of us following one and the other following the other around as they explore and play. Randomly throughout the time we switch also so that we both get time with each of our daughters. It is so fun, but they do learn quickly that when they run in opposite directions that I can't chase them both. I've been really looking into a backpack leash for this exact reason!

When I was in a car wreck on the interstate, someone had ran me off the road into the concrete guard, the police officer had to use that technique to stop traffic so I could move my car to the right side of the road and not be hit. It's definitely a useful maneuver and I was thankful when he did it.

Not that you guys might know, but some people with autism and adhd tend to over-explain things. The guy with the ice cream might have really loved ice cream, and wanted to share. People with autism don’t understand social cues as well, so they don’t always know when you are not interested unless you explicitly say it. Not saying the guy is autistic, but not everyone you interact with will be neurotypical, and I think it’s good to be mindful of that.
@hernameispekka_Rebecca
@hernameispekka_Rebecca 2 жыл бұрын
That is fair, and as an autistic person I know how it is to want to go on with a topic. But it's also fair for others to not want to listen, haha. Especially in a professional exchange. And as others have said, sometimes that kind of schpiel is something manegement pushes the workers to do. Or it was just a really enthusiastic proud owner.

@@hernameispekka_Rebecca right, I get it, but the way it was talked about was a bit insensitive. That’s all I was getting at. I come from 8+ years of customer service, 90% of that being a barista so I totally understand the scripts. I think Colleen and Erik could have let the guy know that they didn’t want to listen to the menu being repeated to them.
