Hello Ladies & Gentlemen and as always, thank you for watching!!! Today, I'm excited to introduce you to something that has been YEARS in the making for us!!! We are now offering Hazardous Materials Emergency Response, which includes mitigation, cleanup, and remediation!!! The amount of training, certification, continued education, equipment, PPE, monetary expense, ect., are all enormous, however, this is something we have wanted to do since before my dad passed away. He and I used to talk about doing this. Ethan and I actually starting our training and certification for this before my dad passed away. Finally, we are moving forward with a venture which will hopefully be beneficial to our community, the environment, our business, our employees, and so much more. I can't tell you how excited I am about this. I guess it's because we have put so much time and effort into doing this properly!!! What's the old saying? Anything worth doing is worth doing right. Excellent set up!! Just a suggestion... Colour code your bins. People in a hurry or someone who is not familiar with your set up who is tasked to be a gopher for you and dont have time to read brother labels! They are hard to read by tired eyes, poor lighting etc. Bet your Dad is pretty proud of you to following through!! ❤

Ron This is great as a former FF Medic who was on a HAZ MAT team its great to see companies like yours get into the mitigation /remediation game. You have a great relationship with you local FDs. Your team will be well trained. Will you be working closely Region E HSRT along with other great folks from SEMA and MERC. In many cases smaller areas would need to wait on a larger private company to do remediation, which can leave a highway closed for hrs. Many folks assume the the local FD will cean up the mess after they have done the hazard mitigation. . I assume you will be putting warning lights on the trailer. Have you ever used LED OUTFITTERS. I just bought a new bar from them and it is great. Stay safe😊

Beautiful set up Ron. The only thing I can see missing is a personal shower station just in case a responder needs an emergency wash down. I guess with the fire department on site they could get sprayed off or even strip down if needed. Ditto on an eye wash station.

Yes it would've been nice but unless he planned for it in advance, its not that easy. I've helped friends convert a few toy haulers and cargo trailers into campers and you have to plan the placement of water tanks just right for balance and weight distribution. And then build around that.

I think it would be cool to see some scene lights put around the trailer for when your walking around or have stuff pulled out, also may be cool to see some flashing lights on the trailer for when on the side of the road (yes I’m sure when this trailer is dispatched there will be a multitude of other response vehicles on scene to provide lighting) but it would be cool to see it hold it’s on if in that position

Congratulations on this new acquisition. In the back by your generator you mentioned establishing a charging station. Have you considered adding solar panels to the roof with a solar generator charging system to augment the generator? There are several names of systems that other channels have received in exchange for reviews. The one system that comes to mind is Bluetti (NO AFFILIATION). They seem to offer a fairly robust line. Very nice. I work at a large LTL terminal, (truck driver for 10 years, now a yard hostler) and we keep the hazmat spill team we're contracted with pretty busy. They're coming in multiple times a week for some type of hazmat spill, either from a forklift driver or something that spilled during transit to our terminal.

Yeah see, thats the part I don't understand. For the same reason Ron started this channel, he filmed his recoveries for insurance purposes. So you would think that he would film Hazmat operations, for legal safety and insurance. So why would you not put that up on KZbin, for those of us who are not in the industry, get to see what the life of a day to day Hazmat operator is like? Thats the same reason why most of us ended up on Ron's channel in the first place, to experience the tow and recovery business.

I definitely know what level A and level B suits are! I was a member of a hazmat ERT at the chemical company I worked for before retiring last year. We dealt with mostly chlorine gas leaks, so I have been suited up in level B with SCBAs . I like your trailer it’s nicely equipped. Stay safe out there

Ron, very nice setup. The one tool I did not see was plastic or aluminum shovels. Very useful when dealing with absorbent mixed with anything flammable. I have a plastic Coal shovel as part of my trucks spill kit just for this reason.

It makes sense if you’re one of the primary responders in your area to have that at your disposal. It can potentially save resources from the local Fire Department to have as much manpower on a scene for the entire cleanup process especially in more rural areas.

Pretty awesome that a tow company is doing a huge part to help out their local community. I live in the North East and we have large are regional Hazmat teams. Our tow companies tow and recover vehicles that’s about it. Cool to see you doing that. I know it’s an absolutely huge financial burden to upkeep all that gear. Very nice addition to the fleet. And like you said, better be have it and dont need it, than needing it and dont have it. Its a shame your dad cant see that you finally acquired your shared dream. And actually, when the most people hear "Hazmat" they instantly think about tankers full of chemicals or other dangerous stuff that's a big job, but to be honest, a simply leaking fuel tank after a normal accident can be a Hazmat situation as well. I mean, the most semi trucks have fuel tanks that can hold up to 150 gallons, maybe more, on each side of the truck. Imagine when a tank like this has a leak. So a trailer like this is a really good way to even deal with the small stuff as well as the big stuff. Oh, and i saw the Pink Panther there, yes! XD

wow congrats on the beautiful and useful trailer no doubt this is a wonderful tool for the smaller fire departments you may respond with as sometimes they can get overwhelmed with a larger scene as for the cameras at a hazmat scene yeah bestbuy gopros are a bad idea in an area with explosive vapors just itchin for ignition being i can set my hero 11 on the spotter truck down and it jacks with the handheld radio so u know there is some electrical leaking somewhere id love to see maybe a mock up of how one would respond with this trailer if u train in the future using it with cape fire like grounding vehicles and what not maybe how a briefing would be done etc would be neat to see while in a harmless environment

Congrats on your progress Ron! Im sure your father would be very proud. I myself am ProBoard certified at the Mission Specific HAZMAT Operations level. I've been thinking of seeing about possibly joining my State's Hazmat Team but I already work a full time job in construction/home renovation on top of being an On-Call Firefighter and helping out at my buddy's Maple Sugaring operation in the springtime. One thing that I find kind of crazy to think about is that back when my own father was entering into the Volunteer Fire Service 30 years ago all he had to do was complete an 80hr "Firefighter Essentials" class and either "Intro to Hazmat" or maybe an early version of Hazmat Awareness training. Whereas when I entered the fire service a couple years ago it was a grand total of around 180hrs of "Firefighter Essentials" training in addition to First aid/CPR/AED certification, 9hrs of State Wildland Fire Control training, and 28hrs of training to obtain my Hazardous Materials Awareness and Hazardous Materials Operations certifications. I look forward to seeing more of your videos in the future and wish the best for the entire Midwest Crew. Stay safe my friends.

I remember your last hazmat video on the job that lasted like 16 hours or something. Definitely feel like this could help reduce that time and get things safety contained quicker. I know for a lot of semi crashes you guys end up needing to wait for fire response or your other truck to load up absorbent and get it to you.

Excellent setup sir. I'm a former FF/EMT. I am now a truck driver finally with all of my endorsements. I will say, my HAZMAT training in the fire department helped me a ton when taking my CDL hazmat test. I already knew a lot about placarding. We had our interstate shut down for 13 hours a few years ago for a truck fire carrying chlorine tablets. That was a long day.
